Double point spawn when you get alot of kills and ot hasn't dropped and a power ups ready. They always drop about 3 kills into a like 5 kill spree

For those wondering why Fire Sales didn't show up in the data in at all is because they work to a similar system to Full Powers. Fire Sales will only enter the drop cycle once the Mystery Box moves via getting Mr. Peeks and will stay in there for the rest of the game. When recording data Doughnuts most likely did not spin the box enough for it to move hence forth not letting them enter the drop cycle

^, this is always how Fire Sales have worked in zombies. Subsequently, if you’re trying for high rounds, it might be worth avoiding moving the box to keep it out of the powerup cycles and get to Instakills and Max Ammos faster.

I've only had it work out in my favor once in a round 100+ run. I had several drop prior to needing one. I feel like you should be able to use the bank vault in liberty falls to store a dropped perk, killstreak, or other items for a small fee. I wish each map had something similar but I understand why there isn't.

Ive had it drop at rd 2. I think thats very rare. I usually dont see till like rd 15. But its not common that I personally see or get one.

I think it's just a consequence of their rarity. You will buy one naturally before the 0.01% chance of buying one. Which anecdotally is what I have observed the rate to be. Like 1 in 10000 kills.

Something I've noticed in BO6 that I have never seen anyone talk about is that loading into a saved game resets what you called the Kills Since Last Power Up counter. So you will get a lot of power ups drop very soon after loading a saved game on a higher round. This can be repeated as many times as you like. But I don't think its kills that count, it could be points. In the older games there were 2 triggers for spawning natural powerups, one is point based and another was just random. In BO1 you would always get a drop on your first zombie kill that is in the playable area after earning (I think) 2000 points, which was usually the 2nd or 3rd to last zombie on round 2 depending how point efficient you were. And the required points for the next drop would slightly increase. Occasionally you would get a power up spawn before that, including on round 1, but that was always completely down to RNG. If you kill an enemy when you are due to get another drop, but are ineligible for another reason such as using a wonder weapon, killing them before they get through a barrier, you've exceeded the limit (4) for that round, or its a max ammo round, then the drop is postponed until the next eligible kill. This is most noticeable immediately after a dog round when the first kill spawns a powerup. There may have been other triggers as well (such as a double points spawning close to an insta kill) , but I don't know about those for sure and I haven't played those games for years.

I agree that the save game feature does not have the drop counter (whatever that may be) implemented correctly. Drops are very saturated the first round or so. Every time I load into a save it is this way.

My theory on natural Max Ammo is one of two. Either it's not guaranteed from any given drop cycle and a significantly lower % chance than the other drops, or guaranteed Max Ammos from bug rounds take up future spots within the drop cycle. So if you get a second Max Ammo from a bug round when one has recently dropped, it'll take one out of the next cycle, most likely meaning you'll almost never see another natural Max Ammo as the drop cycle struggles to keep up with the guaranteed drop. Edit: will also note I've seen a Max Ammo drop naturally early game, but only before a bug round. With regards to powerup frequency, I think it is likely related to enemy kill amounts. Whenever I load a saved game, I notice that I'm getting 3-4 drops every round, whereas on games I stay in since round 1 it's maybe 1 drop per round consistently. Would be nice to see some testing done with save states to see if that does meaningfully increase powerup drops.

@@Doughnuts I've also noticed a correlation between purchasing ammo at an ammo crate and a max ammo spawning. I get the feeling that it works similarly to the Fire Sale and Full Power. I can't count the number of times I've dropped $5k to refill ammo on a PAP3 weapon, only get a max ammo spawn within 30 seconds, lol.

I get Max Ammo's very often right before a bug round, like the game wants to spare me having to buy ammo just before. It's so consistent, that I now just know a bug round is coming when I get a natural Max Ammo. Great video.

p sure double points (and drops in general) appear towards the end of the round because people horde zombies and kill them all at once. Drops appear during the mass kill and round ends at that time. Its all a series of coincidences

I'd definitely like to see an investigation further into the max ammo drops. I'd guess that there's a certain event that enables it to spawn in the first place, after that it ignores drop cycle and MAYBE has increased chance to spawn under certain conditions like being low on ammo. I'd guess that anything that has to do with "buying" ammo is probably affected. Ammo boxes, pap, maybe even acquiring a new weapon. I wonder if the number of weapons you have matters or perhaps your total ammo count.

Taling about full-power it seems once you use your field upgrade they are PERMENANTLY added to the drop cycle (just like your video concludes). You can even test this because if you save and quit then come back and play 100's of rounds without using a field upgrade full powers are still dropping.

Interesting note on this - when I went for the round 100 dark ops, I used a combo of the citadel cheese oil trap with Molotovs and save scumming by hitting alt f4 everytime I downed. The game saves automatically for you when you crash. When you load back into the game, especially after the zombies get super speed, they'll die extremely fast and in large numbers, and it seems like the equation has to be 'kills until next power up' because that number is reset upon reentering the game. I say that because I'll save scum, try that round again, and then I'll get an entire power up cycle if not two in the first round I retry. This also applies if you save and quit doing a quided Easter egg, I'd get a ton of power ups on the guided terminus Easter egg every time I saved, quit, and came back to grind more before going into the boss.

something I noticed in the spreadsheets is that a natural max ammo never spawned in the cycle if you had a bug round or a guaranteed max ammo. It is possible that it can come in the cycle before the max ammo round, but if the max ammo round comes before it naturally drops in the cycle, it counts the max ammo round max ammo as the one in the cycle. which is why sometimes you get two max ammos in a cycle and sometimes you don't. (Just my thoughts on it, I could totally be wrong)

I never knew about the drop cycle hitting every power up but it’s interesting cus I remember not getting max ammos in the old game when we were good on ammo as a way to hope we “save” the spawn of it for later when we needed it… nice to know we weren’t completely crazy and it might have actually worked that way lol

I still do this method…but since I’ve gotten like 15 more cache backs from the double spin (swear I got more blues than anything) I use those instead sometimes if I really want ammo to keep killing…having ammo stashes helps without really needing to use them especially if someone did profit sharing or 2x or even both

This is just a random thing i thought of but what if the max ammo power up follows how much ammo you have and how many points you have so if you are below a certain point of it will give you a max ammo. This would kinda explain why when you double packed you spent all your points and then used your ammo so it gave you a max ammo.

Ok, I will spoil some light on the Max Ammo thing. I did 999 on Terminus and on Citadelle. And that gave me the whole idea how Power up cycle works. At first I was confused why sometimes I was only getting 5 powers ups in a cycle. But only at the middle of Citadelle run I got it. Apparently, in BO6 Max Ammo does NOT spawn in a cycle that follows a max ammo that was dropped on a bug round. Also you didn’t talk about how S&Q affects the cycle. First of all, it completely resets the cycle. Second, it resets the amount of kills that you need to make to get a power up. Additionally, Max Ammo can’t be dropped in a first cycle that you loaded into the game. So after you load your S&Q you will never get a Max Ammo. That’s why you never get Max Ammo in the begging of your game, btw. I checked your spreadsheet, and there are some inconsistencies to my theory in game 2 and 3 for some reason. Idk what made some of those max ammo drop after a max ammo round. But in my games I never get Max ammos after bug rounds. Also you forgot to mention Fire Sales. They also get into your cycle only after the box moves for the first time. I didn’t know about Full Powers. That’s pretty useful info. I will try to use them as late as possible in my next 999 games. Great job. I respect your work. Can you make a video covering how S&Q afffects the game too?

I will say, going past round 100 the drop cycle seems to stop being random. I’ve noticed patterns that repeat regularly and that late into the game I get 1 of every drop, every round 🤷‍♂️

Noted, pack 2 asap and use your field upgrade as soon as you have it the first time to get more max ammo and full powers. Would be interesting to see if you use the full powers Easter egg early in the game and see if the full power is in subsequent cycles.

The full powers are the same as fire sales. You have to use your field upgrade in order to start having full powers drop, just like how you have to have the box moved before you start getting fire sales

When you start getting less and less Power-ups due to your round you are on, i do believe if you save and quit something weird happens to the game and you get multiple guaranteed power ups for that round. and then it goes back to normal. it's just something i've noticed with saving and quitting on high rounds.

Here is my theory: Pretty sure "natural" max ammos are chance based but you can increase your odds by - Buying ammo from ammo cache - Pack-a-punching - Getting low on ammo (less ammo in reserve means higher the chance. Like if you have 60 out of 200 ammo in stock you went through more than half of your ammunition thus it adds a percentage of chance to add max ammo to cycle) And anytime any of these happen it does a rng check so if you are lucky it will add it to cycle

this is a very good video, another fun fact, you can reset the full power drop cycle if you save and quit anytime after you used the first field upgrade and it will reset the drop cycle, just in case you arent trying to get them..

Something I've noticed if no one mentioned it is when I save and quit in a high round then reload that game, the rate of drops sky rockets for some reason. it won't last long but for like 1 or 2 rounds I'm able to get every drop in that round.

I don’t know how you’d do it Doughnuts, but I notice a huge shift in salvage, armour plate drops and support loot dropped from special/elite enemies in higher rnds. Sometimes it feels like they’ve turned the tap off completely. I killed 4 Arbom’s and 6 Manglers on the bank roof and not even a vault key! That’s ridiculous.

It depends on you kill them or what kills them (it has to be your gun that kills them,not a streak, nor ability,or ammo mod your bullets/WW must finish the elite or special to make it drop loot) Unless you did kill them fully then i don’t know, I swear I had some inconsistencies in low rounds (20-30s)

Doughnut do you think the natural Max Ammo spawns could be dependent on the types of guns used and clip attachments or even percentages of shots on target. More misses shots more need for ammo. Just a thought.

Could the max ammo be base upon the amount of bullets you fired depending on the weapon class? (i.e: after 5000 bullet fired from an AR u get a "normal" max ammo.) It would mean the higher round you go, the more max ammo would spawn to compensate for the ever increasing bullets needed to clear larger rounds. Thought?

Question for testing… How does the natural max ammo/full power drop rate change if you collect the hidden power ups on the maps? Never new that and I’ve put a lot of hours into zombies. Watched the gobble gum video and I can confirm they are definitely time based, however I was doing the dark ops challenges. Lose a perkaholic, I ate the gum and died before I got my perks Downed on a bug round and made the chewing sound in the death screen, didn’t get the challenge. In the next 6 days I was rewarded 6 perkaholics. Lowest round I got it was round 3, because I play on PlayStation most of it was recorded and saved so can prove it. Maybe the game felt sorry for me and rewarded me more perkaholics

On high rounds (i.e. 100+) you will get all 4 drops (max amount of round drops) within like 30-60 seconds of the round starting (assuming you are killing fast like you would in a mutant injection). This may point towards each zombie having an equal chance to drop a powerup regardless of the time in the round. Its a great hint when avoiding high round nukes, so you can prevent the accidental pick up and know when you have gotten all of your drops so you dont have to be careful again until next round!

Do the rounds take longer to switch over and spawn Zombies, if you keep a power up saved at the end of the round. I feel like everything goes smoothly, until i get a double points or insta kill as my end of round drop. The zombies will sometimes just NOT spawn in until my power up is almost empty I know this is anacdotal but like it really feels that way 😮

Bo3 didn’t have a drop cycle. You could get 3 nukes back to back before it. I’ve noticed trends of 2x on the end of round 6 and full powers at the end of round 8

I just wish they simplified it more... but nope they had to complicate how max ammo's work. Quite literally just put it in the drop cycle and nuff said. I guess they're trying to balance it with the addition of ammo crates? since ammo is such a big concern in this game, and having ammo crates + max ammo's might be too much? idk im just trying to reason to why they complicate the max ammo cycle so much

You could also check the fire sales. In old games they got added to the cycle if you moved the box. A bit like your full power theory. Other drops that do this: og carpenter only got added in the cycle when all the boards in 4 or more windows got ripped away. The death machine only spawned when power was turned on or if you had quick revive. And the fire sale I just mentioned

They’ve definitely (maybe) changed something over last few weeks. Anecdotal, but two or three duo sessions and several solo rounds had ALL double points and most insta kills at the end of the round. 🤷‍♂️ More recently it’s way more spread out.

Hey, i have a great idea for an analytical video. Since CDM Swords are working with ammo mod augmentes, I think you should make a video about the best augments to make the swords more powerful ( for example: lightning strike + extension for a dead wire would be a great combo for the lightning sword )

You mustve hit two triggers for the max ammos for that back to back one. There must be triggers. Either the 5 rounds. Every game had the same amount of max ammos.....

I wonder if max ammos have a % to drop based on a variety of different game stats. Current ammo, wether you've bought pack a punch. Now I say this because most of them are triggered by certain inputs by the player. While max ammos can't be tied to you buying anything cause if they did you'd end up with a wasteful max ammo. While this also lines up woth the PaP2 because they assume your gonna really be using it and your gonna run out of ammo quicker. So they give you one after that. But otherwise they have to be tracking ammo and how your playing ti determine qether or not you need it. And it's the only one doing it. A way ti see this might be to see if the game suddenly drops memory usage after a max ammo drop because it clear the cache for its tracking. Atleast id think so. But that's why full power and fire sale only show if you do those, to save memory for this.

I have been playing exclusively guided for camo grinding. I have consistently been able to get max ammo when I am low on ammo, except when I have 2 weapons. It seems slightly more random when I have 2 weapons. Maybe every third time running out of ammo i won't get one. I literally let my gun run out of ammo it has been so consistent for me.

So to maximise point gain it is best to hold off using a field upgrade to cycle through power ups quicker

The fact that they are random or not doesn’t matter to me (I’m just yappin btw) power ups don’t have the same feeling to me any more. They feel less powerful. But I have been playing a lot of directed mode so it could be warping my perception. Going to play more standard to see if I feel the same.

I play solo. I notice I get a lot more power-ups when I deal a lot of damage. So grouping the whole horde, then getting head shots, will almost guarantee power-ups. Also, if u have an insta Kill Active and u take out a horde with head shots, u might just get 3 power-ups while taking that said horde out with head shots.

Maybe medals? Or damage done can also be a factor. I think they have a progressbar in the background and some of them are aktiv after some conditions are met. Theory: when you fast kill zombies in a row maybe it drops next a nuke. If you emptying your magazines fast, or you hold down the trigger you get a max ammo

I did use 3 different weapons. The AS VAL (rapid fire too lol), a sniper, and the DM10. So the fact that I got the same drop cycle every game would suggest otherwise. Unless you're talking about WITHIN the drop cycle, in which case... good luck figuring out how to test that XD

@ maybe a test with a stopwatch? High damage weapon and a low damage weapon, inside one cycle how long does it take to get a instakill. Same rarity, pap and round. Is insta killing ( with headshots) a condition for insta kill?

I just made it to round 592 on citidelle. On every round , all the power ups fell the same time. They came from killing the dobblegaust, the first 5-6 dobblegaust gave one of each power ups

I tried to avoid the bomb at the beginning of each round because it would come from first 5-6 killed dobblegaust while I would have trap set

After all the power ups dropped in first min , cause at very high rounds, 5-6 dobblegaust come very quick. All power ups dropped at same time, then , none the rest of round

My bet is that the bug round max ammo is counting to the cycle. The one where you got 2 in one cycle is the natural one happened first, and the bug round max ammo MUST spawn, so it spawns anyway.

13:51 not to go too neardy but you could dona regression analysis on the scatter plots you have here to see if there is a mathamatical corolation with whatever selection you have on the Y-axis. 😅

@@Doughnuts 😅 well at a very high level you can use it to see if there is a relationship between two or more sets of data. I'm an Energy Engineer and we use it to set baselines for companies for energy consumption. For example if they have a heating system that is controlled based off the external air temperature, you can run a regression analysis of their energy used over a year and compare it to the external air temperature (we use Heating Degree Days) to see if there is a relationship. If the R2 value is over 0.7 you can say there is a strong relationship and use it in a model to predict how much energy they should consume based on the HDD for a given week. For this case you can basically run the analysis against "How far into the Round" and come up with an actual number to say if it is related or not. Sorry for the info overload! 😅

During my camo grind, I've already gotten three insta-kill power-ups in a row. Consequently, could the power-up cycle be influenced? Perhaps by reloading the game, using guided mode, staying at level 11, or some other unknown factor. It also seems to me that the way I kill zombies has an impact. I get certain power-ups more often when I shoot zombies in large groups instead of eliminating them one by one.

What about fire sale? I went many games without ever getting one then started a match where I was grinding camo's using the directed method with raven and light incantation started and circling in quick revive area on citadel. After I finished 2 weapons to gold and I hit the box until it moved location I started getting firesales regularly.

I feel like the cycle is per player? When my son and I play we both get a power up more than once a couple times right next to each other. I also feel like since the jan9th up date the 2x don't do end of round as much

With the back to back drops it's possible if it's the last power up of one cycle, and also the first one of the next cycle!

Maybe max ammo is tied to amount of elites killed, I see that the first max ammo spawns after the first elite, the times you didnt get a max ammo after an elite you could have killed it with a nuke wich doesn't count as an elite kill?

I've found that using your field upgrade lots gets many Full Powers. However in co-opyouncould get 2 or 3 power ups per round.

something isnt right with the drop cycle in this game idk what exactly and idk how to even test or replicate it but many times at least 3 ive had multiple of the same drop without cycling through all drops. Is there anything to back up that its bugged somehow? (not finished video)

That happens when the LAST drop of a "drop cycle" is the SAME as the FIRST drop of the NEXT "drop cycle"... Does that make sense?

@Doughnuts yeah I thought the same thing but I could swear I haven't finished the full cycle of one drop cycle, this was a while ago to be fair so I may be mis remembering but I'm not sure, it's a lil strange it's never felt "off" before bo6 but I'm not smart enough to figure it out lmao 😅

Most games I don't look at the kill count every time I get a power up, or at the end of every single round ;)

What if max ammo is tied to literally having no ammo left so 0/0, like how you have to use your field upgrade in order for full powers to spawn, or maybe you're on to something were max ammo only spawns when you get teir 2 pack cus then ammo gets expensive it costs 2500, were before it is just 1000 for tier 1 pack and 250 for none packed weapons that will actually make sense cus why would the game give you max ammos if you can buy ammo for Very cheap price.

@@Doughnuts I have tested a melee only run to round 51 and I didn't fire a single bullet, but I still got a "natural" max ammo 2 time, one on round 20 and one on round 28 but didn't get a single one after that I exfiled on round 51, this is so weird what is this max ammo drops tied to.

Is it possible that max ammos are tied to the ammo count of the gun? Not like shots fired BUT if 1 bullet was to equal 1 kill? For example, if you load in with a gun that has 250 reserve ammo and 50 rounds in the mag, you’d obviously not get 300 kills with that amount of ammo. You’d have to buy ammo or get a bug round max. I feel like (no science here) when you hit around that 300 kills mark, that’s when a max would drop.
