The UN made their moves. USA blocks almost every action against Israel. Netanyahu could claim Obama wasn't with Israel because Obama didn't rubberstamp Israeli policy. 99% agreement is anti Israeli for Netanyahu. Having the US embassy in Jerusalem is a wet dream come true for Netanyahu.

Where was the Law during Iraq and Afghanistan war for oil?
@hanspeter-fs4in
@hanspeter-fs4in 3 жыл бұрын
law can only be as useful as the states accept them. Lets say as example you forbid cluster bombs because of the damage they deal to the civil society once they get dropped. Then USA and Russia show up and say "no no we dont want this we like this weapon". As a result these states will still own this weapons and the others arent allowed to. Thats because they are to powerful to be ruled. Same applies to every other rule. When states are to powerful you cant set them under any law. Because who will stand up against them and say "hey you broke the law now you have to deal with us"?. Right none will do it because the states are to powerful none would stand up against them. As a result states that are to powerful dont fall under any law. They can do whatever they want. I can make another example: Lets say your going to school. Now you decide you want to smoke a cigarette in class room. Then a teacher shows up right after you start smoking, forced you to go out of class room and condemned you to write 5 sites at home about what you have done wrong. Chances are high you wont do it again because the teacher stays above you and can always punish you if you break the rules. Now imagine the same scneario but this time your higher in standing then the teacher. Which could mean you have the chance to fire him from his job when he even tries to punish you. In this case the teacher wont show up and condemn you to the same stuff he did in the above case. Instead he will most likely tolerate what you do even tho he knows that your breaking the rule. Exactly the same concept goes to state actors. In fact its very common that the big countrys break laws for their interests, because they can never be punished for breaking it. There will always be countrys that act out of law and you cant do anything against it. You have to take it as it is and accept it, thats the only thing you can really do. Discussing about it or bring them topics back up again wont change anything and therefore its useless.

@Brek Malotta in fact thats the point of view of almost all world powers nowadays. Its especially true for the USA for example (the best latest example is the acting of the USA towards the WHO). Germany in the past was considered a world power thats why they even challenged the british empire in ww1. For sure it was true for germany in the past but this exact point of view by world powers hasnt changed until today.

That’s where an amendment to convention on the law of the sea is required. Read some history and we talk again. The nation of Israel has been in this area for millennia. Today it is a tiny strip of land hosting 8 million people, surrounded by nations who want to annihilate them. What’s wrong with defending their right to existence? What is it you disagree with? Yes, they are highly educated, highly connected, they control much of the world economy, but this is their defense. This is their way to solve their existential challenge. Beat them if you can, economically, militarily or in any other way you want. Otherwise just stop exposing yourself by just complaining that some others are progressing and you and your nation is going backwards... Talking and blaming others for your misery is easy, doing is waaaaaaay more difficult.
@buoyohbuoy790
@buoyohbuoy790 3 жыл бұрын
Whitesoul You can have your biased and emotionally charged opinion, it doesn’t change the history and the facts though. The inability to raise your head and see the big picture over millennia, the difference between long term strategy and short term tactics, the difference between individual suffering and long term progress and prosperity of a nation, is a matter of lack of education, maturity and ...potential. Historically, abundance of resources has always been the basis for human progress and advancements in technology, cultural development, civilization, and ...war. Mesopotamia and Egypt with their rivers that brought fertile soil and abundance of food, sparked the start of civilization, and the Judaic-Christian religious development, set the acceptable norms of human behavior that would help civilization to progress in a coherent and organized fashion, a precursor of the western legal system. Then the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans came to consolidate and codify human progress, by making advances in science, technology, arts and culture and so on. War was always present, as barbarians were always keen to enjoy the advancements of others for free, acting as parasites. This has always been a fact of life. In physics it is called entropy. The story continued for thousands of years until today. Yes, oppression was part of the actions of the rich, as barbaric destruction has been part of the arsenal of the parasites. There will always be people, nations, races, who will be ahead of the rest, and they will always be attacked for their “unjust” behaviors by those who feel excluded. This is how history is written. Those who don’t understand it waste their lives and become victims in the power struggles of others.

Imagine a quarrelsome neighbor wandering around your neighborhood holding a gun and ringing the bells of other houses shouting that his house is quite narrow and he should be given some rooms from neighbours houses. He asks his neighbors for concessions while he targets at them with his gun. This type of Ottoman “war diplomacy” is reminiscent of Hitler's behavior shortly before the start of World War II. The new sultan of the peculiar "Islamic Democracy of Turkey" must do something good for his people and for Human Rights in his country, instead of constantly pushing his people into wars and invasions to other countries as he did with Cyprus, Iraq, Syria and Libya

The Greeks say that 80 million people living in Turkey do not have any right in the Mediterranean because the small island with a small population are belong to grece . island 580 kilometers far from the mainland of Greece and just 2.4 km far from turkey main land. Greek says turkish people has no right to have natural gas cannot even catch fish and the European Union finds this reasonable.and support greece !! Leave that Christians solidarity try to be a little fair or sooner or later it's ready for a war. just after first world war italians has given these islands to greece. Turkey gave the liberation war against the so called western states .

The subject is the issue of which countries exist and how much in the East Mediterranean. Anyone looking at the map can easily see. .The mainland of Greece is a land country with a Aegean sea on one side and an Ionian Sea on the other. In addition, Greece's 3-4 islands, including the island of Crete and Rhodes, are at the exit of the Aegean Sea. There is also the island of Meis, which is a part of Greece. This island is 10 square kilometers wide; 2 kilometers from the coast of Turkey. It is 500 km from Greece. About 500 people live on it. Turkey fully in the Eastern Mediterranean, 783 562 square kilometers, 85 million people live in the area. Turkey has 1577 kilometers of coastline in the Mediterranean. The problem between the two states is this: Greece states that the islands are territorial waters and continental shelf and defends that they have the right to EEZ. Turkey has the right to territorial waters of the island. However, these are not continents. These are islands. Islands do not have a continental shelf. Therefore, he says the islands do not have the right to EEZ. Greece's claim: Although the island of Kastellorizo is 10 square kilometers, the EEZ right is 40,000 square kilometers. Turkey's claim: This is nonsense. And it's illegal. An example of the application in the world: Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, Herm and Jethou Islands, which are located in the English Channel between England and France, have been under the control of England since 1066 with a population of approximately 170,000. The problem of the continental shelf of the islands, which brought France and England against each other due to the oil deposits in the region, could only be resolved in court. In the court, Britain argued that the size of the island s does not matter, just as Greece does today, and that the sea border with France should be determined by taking this into account. France, on the other hand, stated that Britain's demand for equidistant borders based on the islands would reduce the French continental shelf in favor of Britain, and that this claim was completely disproportionate to the size of the islands and the length of their coasts. Defending that the equidistant border would divide its continental shelf into 2 separate regions, France suggested that the borders of the Channel Islands, territorial waters and the continental shelf should be determined as 6 miles, 3 miles each. Announcing its decision on June 30, 1977, the court ruled mostly in favor of France. Deciding that the line between the two sides should be drawn from the middle of the English Channel from the mainland, the court restricted the continental shelf of the Channel Islands to 12 miles. The court thus concluded that the islands would not be a continental shelf larger than 12 miles, while France was also able to maintain its continental shelf. France, despite this decision is in favor of today, Turkey 2, while Greece 582 kilometers from the island of Meis of size with a disproportionate continental shelf that Athens supports the lead time with, defending it for years to England and international courts largely accepted contradicts the theses submitted.

Rights comes with responsabilitys too. The global community should have some common rules about dutys that comes with rights. Clean waters, no over fishing. Making sure refugees are safe while crossing ect. And how are these fights affecting a main source of income to several nations in the Mediterranean? International tourism. Major money. Destroy the safety and cultural/natural environments for 10 years worth of gas? That's not longterm. There must be better ways. Use the talents of your engineers and get sustainable energy in "no time". Compete on who is really first instead of fighting who's the last one in a sinking ship..

@lostmypassword

@@eddypowell9736 I get it. But what's the solution? There must be at least a couple of good ones that in the end will be a win win for all. 10 years should not be considered a sustainable plan in 2020. Because then what? Europe's "eye to the sky" is destroyed and so is the globe and the economy. International unions could have a word in I think. Because when this gas pocket is empty, they Will look for new ones. Around the world. That's why new rules/laws, not guidelines, on international levels are in a hurry to be made. And interest should and could be more global than local, since it will affect all anyway. 10 years in some perspectives is nothing.

Your words are right and I share your thoughts but... an energy revolution, from fossile to green, will take way more than 10 years. And it will maybe achieved in some EU countries by 2050, but Turkey? Egypt? Middle East countries? How could they reach indipendence from fossile fuels in 10 years only?
@lostmypassword
@lostmypassword 3 жыл бұрын
@@VFAHSN Thank's for that. I didn't talk about independence in 10 years. I said, "10 years is nothing in some perspectives". But starting now instead of in 10 years will make a huge difference. You can't change things like that by taking away a country's maybe biggest source of income and offer nothing in return. That's why I'm urging countries to take well care of for example their engineers and start making changes now so a phase out is possible and part of the win win plan. Without the "win win" aspect of the plan, the plan is not complete. And when it comes to EU, I am utterly convinced they have the means to move much faster. I think it's a matter of will. And if you are a leader, you make sure no one is left behind. Even if it means a sacrifice. If not, give way for a better leader.

@@lostmypassword The problem I see is that Turkey has isolated itself. Now obviously the responsability is also of EU and neibouring countries, but Turkey nationalistic attitude is way too big and the country has left the road of laicism walked by Ataturk. With this in mind, proxy wars and conflict are inevitable. And maybe, let's hope not, war one day.
