The Party of Justice and Development, known as PJD, came to the forefront of Morocco's political scene following the Arab Spring.
Since then, it has led the government following victory in two elections.
But on Wednesday, the PJD lost more than 100 seats, a performance that pushed it to the margin of politics in Morocco.
A party considered close to the palace is now expected to lead the next government.
But will that change anything?
Presenter: Bernard Smith
Guests:
-Lahcen Haddad, political analyst and former Moroccan minister
-Jasper Hamann, columnist with Morocco World News
-Mohamed El Hachimi, political scientist

As a Moroccan I am trying to understand what will make the UN come to a decision about the Moroccan Sahara? Must the whole world recognize it? That will not happen. Because, .... because the most of those countries don't care that much about us and above that they have no clue about our history. Normally, the most sensible approach to solving the problem is to involve the countries that are essentially responsible for this. Ofcourse I am talking here about France and Spain. At this moment it seems like Spain and France are saying to us: 'we have nothing to do with this problem, fight about it with the algeriens and if you want us to support you at the UN than you must let us continue exploitating the country'. Paradoxically, the UN is helping France and Spain to escape from their historical involvement, responsibility and culpability in creating this disaster and points only to Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and Polisario as those who should negotiate for a solution. Obviously a try of the Western World to avoid any kind of direct involvement and confrontation but at the same time they use and abuse this political problem to exploit and rob Morocco of its wealth. Not to mention the current unrest and division in North Africa. This proves that the UN is nothing but a tool of the West to continue their colonial ambitions, now on an economic level. While in deciding on the Sahara file, France and Spain must be overwhelmed present and decisive. Their involvement in making a decision possible is not only needed but even obligated. Because it's Spain and France who divided Morocco and therefore it's their responsibility to restore the stability and unity of the country again. In fact making Spain and France 'admit that they divided' Morocco is already a recognition of the Moroccan Sahara, that immediately 'must' be accepted by the whole world. *** so many thanks for sharing ****👍

@@nak1509 the political sphere in a monarchy country such as Morocco is restrained by the head of state so it quite clear that the royal institution is not align with the previous government policy that led by "a party with Islamic ideology background" so in order to damage the reputation of the PJD party and diminish its popularity the deep state made work very hard for them and that was obvious even before forming a coalition with other parties and also during their term

We live in 2021, with a modern king who wants to move forward with his people, not backward! Morocco is doing a big cleaning with the old-fashioned thinking pawns who want to stay alive in the year 1900. Spain and Algeria and very secretly France do not allow Morocco to grow! Mohammed VI knows that if there is a threat from outside, he can count on the Moroccan people. Reef, saharoui, jabli, or arab they are all 1 when the danger comes.

You're wrong, the parliament holds full legislative power. And the Government does govern for real, it's just that the king holds power too, mostly over the biggest orientations of the country, as well as by nominating the so called regal ministries, which are defense, foreign affairs, interior and religion. Except for these, both the party in power and the parliament can knock themselves out and do whatever they want...under the watchful eyes of the palace, just in case! :)

Is that why they use the symbol that represents him? Prince Bapomet has that same pentagram on his forehead that symbol is Babylonian I also wear it in my ear the prince of Persia Cyrus the great the king of ancient Babylon very coincidence Jesus said that the fallen angel is the prince of this world now it is understood We see that symbol in many things in some nations because they are probably under his dominion.
