I am a Canadian who had a father from England. I was told that the British working class was content to stay working class. In 1983 I saw a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation news report on the coal miners strike in Britain. They were in a coal mining town in England. A 29 year old coal miner was with his four year old son. He said"My grandfather was a coal miner, my father was a coal miner, I am a coal miner and when my son grows up I want him to be a coal miner". I realised that an American would have said something like"My father was a coal miner, I am in law school studying to be lawyer, and when my son grows up I want him to do things that I could not do". As a Canadian I honour my British heritage but I want to live my life to the best that I can.

😇I just bought a plaque it reads YOU ARE MEANT FOR BIG THINGS' I never went looking for one it just caught my eyes.
