A catch up. What is now flowering in the garden. which of these are useful for insects. The insects have I seen this month, bees and caterpillars. Along with wildflowers that can spread readily but easily controlled without chemical use. Scarlet Tiger moth image in Community link.

Thank you. Quiet of late really probably due to the weather being so chilly. Plants doing well but very little insect activity. Tadpoles are doing very well though. Hope you're well. 🐸 💚

Yes, I did enjoy the catch up. It`s lovely to see your garden again. It looks full of interest with lots to come over the season. We used to have Alkanet in Wigan, but none here. I think I may have some Jack by the Hedge over the road, but I don`t need to control it yet. Thanks for the tour, Isabel.

Thank you Isabel. Your patch over the road is ideal for Hedge Garlic like my wilderness at the top of my garden.

Loved this video Tracey. Your garden is much further on than mine. Love your Honesty. It’s huge! I’ve never seen it white before. I have just been gifted Sweet Woodruff for my Birthday. Love the smell. Thanks for sharing.🙂

Wow Tracey what a simply lovely and relaxing walk about. It is all coming back to life and should be a wonderful place to sit and enjoy. Could you do the 1/3 rule on the old buhdliea just prune a third each year? Hope you have some fab sunny days and get out to enjoy, Ali 🌞🌞🇨🇦

Hi Ali that sounds like a good tip for my old buddleia. The branches now are so thin that I don't need loppers any more to cut it back. Maybe a lighter cut will help it produce more flowers. I hope we get some lengthier days of sun it's been a dreadful winter and spring so far. So every sunny day is a special pleasure. Enjoying your channel. Take care, Tracey 😊💚

Hi Tracey! You know how much I love your garden tours. I can't wait for the next one. I had mating frogs/toads in my garden after not seeing any for 5 years ans felt so guilty when I found spawn on the gravel..I have no pond in my garden and really would like to put in a large half barrel pond but had no idea the frogs would be able to get in until you mentioned you has them in yours. It a project for this year for me. Squirrels are a big problem for me after a whole family inviting themselves into our house last year every time the door was open. Next doors hazelnut bush is my enemy now haha. I love dog violet and noticed it in my garden last year..is it OK to stay? I left some but dug some out which I didn't find easy as it was in the gravel. Your advice on the frogs and dog violet is much appreciated if you get time. Best wishes davena

Hi Davena. I'm jealous of the toads! How brilliant but yes upsetting about the spawn. Barrel ponds are great, usually the frogs use the plants around the barrels to gain access. I have also in the past used small planks of wood as a ramp, but bricks as steps are also a good way of providing access to the barrel. The Dog violet is fine to stay. It readily sets seed and is best controlled by pulling. It's not that invasive in my garden. The squirrels are cute but a pain. They're digging up my pots burying seeds and strip tree bark which kills trees beside planting hazels once my Hazel starts fruiting 😂 I hope you get a barrel pond going I've even had dragonfly emerge from one before so a great asset if there's no pond. Best of luck and I hope the squirrels move on.🤞🏻🐸💚

@wildlifegardener-tracey6206 thanks so much Tracey.. yes we had a few dragonflies testing on the star jasmine last year..I loved to watch. The barrel pond will definitely be going in at some stage. Happy gardening Tracey when this wind calms down. Thank goodness your roof is done
