Denmark is not expensive, it's just other countries that are poor. 🙂 Yeah, CPH city is expensive, outside the city prices are more humane. Nyhavn is probably the most expensive place. But you can buy a beer in a grossery, and sit at the harbor and drinking it. We have no law against drinking in public. You can also make yourself a little picnic in one of the parks, just don't litter. Littering is 2 years hard labor in the Ice mines in Greenland, first 6 month without gloves. 🙂

Money if you know how to earn it, it comes back. But your age, your time, your youth they don't. So as you say it NJ, "Live your life" 💗💗💗💗🔥🔥

@50:40" But who cares, money is money, comes and goes, right? Memories are priceless". That's my life moto bro. Excellent video. Looking forward to a week in Denmark, if I can make it happen in a couple of weeks. Cheers! (Kingston, Canada)

The fountain is Gefion. She plowed the island Sjælland, where Copenhagen is located out of Skåne, which is now Southern Sweden but previously was part of Denmark, so the story goes. By the way Kastellet, the fortress, is pronounced completely different in Danish than English.

"The Little Mermaid" was written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1836. Unveiled on 23 August 1913, The Little Mermaid was a gift from Danish brewer Carl Jacobsen to the City of Copenhagen. The sculpture is made of bronze and granite and sits in the water at Langelinie Pier.

Rosenborg Castle is open to the public. Best go online and get a slot time. Even the Crown jewels are on display in there. Most castles are public and open.

The danish word for thunder is torden and Thor in Danish is Tor. Thursday is Torsdag. Connect the dots. 🙂

The Norse god Odin or Wōden. Wednesday or in Danish onsdag (Odins day). Friday - Freya's day or fredag in Danish. Odin is the father of Thor, Freya is a Norse goddess.

1:11:50 The waste bin you hear are pneumatic. Local residents and restaurants have a key to open the bin and after they close it again their waste are automatically sucked away. It all ends up for trash sorting and the majority ends up as energy in the form of central heating in Copenhagen. Since we on good windy days are able to produce over 150% of our electricity by primarily off shore windmill and on average now are over 65% (in a few years Denmark will become net exporter of green electricity) it are yet another proof that transitioning to a sustainable energy production and usage are not a matter of going back to the stone age, on the contrary, it are the new transition energy revolution that will create better options and provide better life´s while also providing better air, water and an atmosphere we can survive in.

Hi NJ. The old red buildings in the Kastllet belong to the military intelligence service, and it is still in use. But you have to go through there, it is a very nice place.

Yes, Peter Scmeichel was born in CPH, in the part named Gladsaxe. Peter was very popular, but without a doubt, Michael Laudrup was bigger.

Yeah, Rome is notorious. UAE and Monaco is the only place I truly felt safe at all times.

I have never been pickpocketed in Copenhagen or Denmark for that matter, and I don't know anybody else that has been, and I am born in Copenhagen. Denmark is ranked among the safest places on the planet, and it is the least corrupt country in the world.

First sentence!: The sculpture "is the inspiration for The little Mermaid" ...!??! Oh dear! Now that is what setting out on the wrong foot means! AND if you only know The little Mermaid and anything else by Hans Chr. Andersen from Disney only and have never read Hans Christian Andersen's stories PLEASE, please, PLEASE stay away from it! A black actress representing her would hardly have offended Hans Christian Andersen. On the contrary! Andersen's fairy tales may have the appearance and story-line aimed at children. But in fact much more is said and implied to the adults reading the stories to children. Which is why we Danes cherish reading and re-reading Hans Christian Andersen from childhood to old age.

Don't give those stupid bikers space on Kastellet. It's not allowed to bike there.
