The base models are so rewarding and plenty of power on public roads

I believe the 991.2 Carrera will be viewed as the pinnacle of the 911. Whether you choose the Base, the S, T, GTS, GT3, etc… the 991.2 generation is the best of them all. And the Base model is a modest gem in the lineup. Its smaller turbos spool up more quickly, providing quicker throttle response and useable street performance. And better yet, because it is basically an ECU-detuned version of the higher output engines, an ECU Retune nets more substantial gains than in the S or GTS. Opt for the base exhaust rather than the expensive PSE and spend less money on aftermarket high flow cats and exhaust to gain actual performance and sound, while reducing weight. And the steering-wheel/interior/infotainment are improved in the dot-2. The 992 put on weight and size, while adding the exhaust particulate filter and gimmick door handles. If you like the new tail lights, you get that. I prefer the 991.2 rear view and the softer hood and bumper. The only thing I like better about the 992 is the slightly wider fenders. Cheers 😎🎩♠️

I can’t wait for a GT3 review! Once you drive it you won’t want anything else. I speak from experience 991.2 touring
