What's driving the war in Sudan and who is arming the fighters? | DW News

Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, say they're ready to join cease-fire talks. This comes after the United States invited warring sides to the table in an effort to end the conflict. US officials will mediate the talks in August, with the African Union, the United Nations and others acting as observers.
The war in Sudan has been ongoing for over a year. The Sudanese army has been fighting the RSF over control of the country. The conflict has left thousands dead and more than 10 million displaced.
People in Darfur have endured some of the worst massacres reported so far, especially the residents of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, where the paramilitary RSF has indiscriminately attacked men, women and children of any age, according to rights groups and the UNJJLH. It has forced many survivors to flee to neighboring Chad.
Some 600,000 Sudanese people are now living in refugee camps there. DW’s Mariel Mueller traveled to Adré in Chad to capture their stories.

Mesiria the tribe of RSF general aren't Arabs they natives like the ones they call African They may have 5 to 15 % mixing with Arabs but that doesn't make them Arabs What do they benefit by calling themselves Arabs

Give us names. I put RSF general in google search, and I mostly see people with arab features, albeit darker in complexion than usual. And they are funded by arabs (UAE, Libya).

I'm thinking and learning about the famine and fighting in Sudan only through Alan Dershowitz and his KZbin channel The Dershow. He succinctly sums up why there is no outrage or uprisings in American colleges about Sudan as there are about Gaza. The coverage of Sudan on KZbin only has a few thousand views. Great report. It's seldom said what clearly is the case:; outside forces financing the conflict for access to resources. My suspicion is that the other large UK broadcasters don;t want to be seen fingering the UAE, so they just skirt the issue.

This string of failed states through nothern africa´s going to be a source of problems for a very long time. The list of proxy war interests seems endless. Perhaps AU´ll be able to quell these tribalist movements?
