The greatest singer ever. The difference between this man and singers like Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson and Christina Aguilera is that he understood how to EVOKE with his voice. All of these divas and their male counterparts just hit the notes. Marvin USED them to reach the listener. He knew when to let it all hang out and when to hold back. He didn't sing OVER the instruments, but married his voice with them. A true artist.
@joey23568 жыл бұрын
Man O'Neal hold this W for understanding music lol the music industry today, TV shows like the Voice and radio stations showing people that you need the perfect singing voice when it's really how you use it, look at bob Dylan for example he wasn't the greatest singer but as an artist he made amazing music.
@manoneal17248 жыл бұрын
Word. Technical ability is nice, but if you don't have the musical sensitivities to infuse real, genuine emotion into your voice then, in my opinion, you aren't a TRULY great singer. Although I disagree with you on Bob Dylan. I think he was/is a very boring musician and a TERRIBLE singer. One hell of a songwriter though.
@joey23568 жыл бұрын

I also think that this is the greatest song from the greatest album of all time in the history of the world! Period. The greatest music,the greatest melodies, the greatest songs, the greatest messages in them. And this album is more relevant today then when he created it 46 years ago! "This album was written by God. I was just the instrument that he used to put his message out". Marvin Gaye. I miss you my brother. R.I.P. Marvin. The engineer accidentally mixed the two best vocal takes on top of each other and when Marvin heard the playback in the studio he decided to do the whole album that way! Sounds amazing but that's why sometimes it's harmonies and sometimes unison vocal lines, because he was improvising a lot in the studio and both takes just happened to fit together so well.
