If Etsy is gathering reviews that seller does not see, how is the seller supposed to combat fraudulent bad reviews that another shop makes in order to scam search results and tank the other shop? Ridiculous.

I doubt that there would be enough people trying to scam the system that it would make a difference. If anyone does slide in a fake review it will be an outlier if the product is good overall, so it shouldn't move the needle.

That's why I'm taking a break at the moment, well partly. If I don't have Etsy ads on, I don't get any sales. But the sales I get through the ads aren't enough to cover the cost of the ads each month 😑 I was doing a lot on SM and my FB group, so I'm really not sure where I was going wrong and lost motivation 😔

I’m tired too! For 3+ years orders came in regularly. A month or two now maybe one order a week. Over 1200 5 star reviews, Star seller… doesn’t matter. Sales have tanked and with all the recent nonsense, I’ve lost my interest.

Every time I list new listings i get a message from an EtsyHelper that's the email name and they will send me a copy of a picture that i listed but no message. Then i get a notification from etsy to reply asap to this potential customer. There is no etsy badge so i have to assume its not Etsy. Right so who is Etsy helper. I did reply and asked then if they had a suggesting for her regarding this listing but no reply back.

That’s a scam. Check on desktop, there’s a folder in your email there for official Etsy messages. If it comes from a customer it won’t be in that folder, so you know for sure it’s fake.

Would the ads that aren’t making money get reviews given the item is good quality and then grow your reputation that would become organic traffic in the future? Like an investment?

Not necessarily. "Recency" on Etsy doesn't last very long these days.

Hi Kara, do you want to know when the ads being played are excessive? They are like every 3 minutes or maybe even more frequent than that and I'm listening on my desk top while painting, and it is hard to listen when I have to go search out my mouse and put what I'm doing down to skip through (I don't mind some and I know it helps with monetasation to listen all the way through, so I do listen all the way through on a few, but this is so much that I am probably going to have to save the video for a time when I am not doing something else, and that is pretty much never.....

What you do when a client orders , pays and after an hour asks for cancellation, or the same customer orders, pays , i send the order and when the order arrives, doesn't accept the package and sends it back,. Then asks for cancellation. The cancellation is done and the money refunded when the package came back. After two weeks orders again. Everything ok. And after another two weeks appears again. Buys , pays and an hour later, asks again for cancellation. Of course i cancelled but i am really so angry! What can you do in such a situation? Because i know she will come back😁

Tell her that due to previous cancellations you can’t accept any more orders from her and then cancel right away.
