love the guest appearance of your huge cat...he is gorgeous!....I luv big cats. My Poe (passed) was 25 lbs and I miss holding him so much. The rest of my cat herd is mostly black cats and one Siamese cat with blue eyes....she is the smallest of the bunch (only 8 lbs) and the loudest. She, Eve, is why I keep cat treats at my desk because when she wants a treat she will get extremely loud and not stop until she gets a treat LOL.

Anyone else having an issue with production partners here? I have my card designs printed but I can’t change the ‘sourced by’ to designed by? Despite ticking the ‘I did’ box first 😒

If you can use the customers photo then just take a pic of it before you ship it out? Yes, you would have to order one first. One sweatshirt or cup or tote whatever you’re selling. I was planning on doing this anyway when I open my next shop. I would never use a mock up from a company. It’s too fake to me.

Hi Kara - Does that picture have to be the first photo in your listing? I use a silhouette of the cut file for my first picture but I have been working on getting videos of all of my items. If I am hearing you right this won't cut it.

The picture has to be the first one, the videois always going to be int he second position because that's where Etsy puts it.

The jewellery classification is a tricky one. I make jewellery from components so that is no longer handmade. I also make dresses. I didn't weave my own fabric, so is that a component and therefore are my dresses assembled from existing components?

Fabric is s basic craft supply. The jewelry is made by you, then hand assembled. The term “handmade” isn’t even a thing on Etsy anymore.

@@KaraBuntin I've just been looking at my other Etsy shop. How do I list a physical book that I wrote and published. It was printed through a printers that I have listed as a production partner, but I don't know how to list it or the tools it uses. Any ideas?

@@falcieridesigns Just follow the steps and choose what's logical! Say that you have a production partner but set up everything else as usual.

I brought some adobe istock photos and use them on three listings - I assume now that this is not allowed? Can you please confirm? and how long do you think I have to replace these photos?

Technically, you've never been able to use stock photos or clipart that you buy as-is, you're always supposed to alter it in some way to individualize it so that it's not the same as it was when you bought it. You can still use stock images to make other things, but you do have to alter them in some way.

Now, I'm going into my old listings and I'm not seeing things that you're showing 'How does your shop produce this item', tools etc. Is it not rolled out to everyone yet? What happens if I do nothing to update the listing even if the options are there for me to update?

That's interesting, I thought that they had rolled this out to everyone, but maybe not yet. If you don't do anything to update tham Etsy will just guess at which category they should go in (made by vs designed by) and it could be wrong, so it's better to update things when you can.

@@KaraBuntin You are right, Kara! Gasp! I just noticed that some of my listings have been wrongly categorized. Is there anything special you have to do when you click on the listings to edit them? Do those new fields just automatically appear for you when you go into the listings?

@@daphnelee8781 You have to go into the listing like you're editing it, click "details" then click "change" to open up the menu to choose the right options.

We offer a personalization option for some of our items but most people don't choose it and, depending on what they want, it can alter the design somewhat. Not a POD product. Do I just need to make 2 listings, one for the personalized and 1 for the other? Can I show the personalized listing photo with an explanation that design may vary somewhat with the personalized piece added to the product?

That's a good question, and I do think that you should note that somewhere if it's a substantial change because someone is oging to complain about it. It might be good to do the two listings so you don't have to mess with both of them.

I watched Josh’s video twice just to listen for the word handmade and no he never referred to Etsy as handmade one time. Handmade is gone as far as he is concerned. He just doesn’t want to say it out loud.

I sell digital files of posters for classroom decor. I've created the mockups myself. What I did is added a wall behind, put some vertical rectangles (frames), then added the images of my posters on top of them. Now the aesthetics of my first images looks the same but posters are completely different. Should I be worried?

If they're not personalized that's fine. If they are personalized I don't know for sure, since it's a digital file and the mockup requirements don't cove4r that. I think it should be fine, though.

I remember in one of your more recent videos you touching on the subject of hand delivery and how to deal with Etsy and not having a tracking number if you are hand delivering an item. Can you tell me which video that was so I can refer to it? Or remind me what the bottom line was of that topic? I sold a large, heavy, fragile Murano glass bowl last night and the buyer is only 20 minutes away... many, many, MANY thanks

I don't know which one it was, we talk about a lot of things in all of these...There's no good way to do that, you can put in a fake tracking number and it might register as tracking. But that can backfire if something goes wrong. Etsy jsut isn't set up fot in-person delivery.
