The current state of the world with cancel culture, specifically against men with accusations from women, is really dangerous and has an overall negative effect on everyone involved. As soon as an accusation is made, regardless if it is true or not, causes all kinds of doubt about the company they work for, the people closest to the accused party, and anyone associated with the accused party all gets thrown into turmoil. And if the accusation is false, there is no meaningful repercussions applied to the accusing party and the accused's reputation is irreversably damaged with no compensation. I'm not saying if this stuff is going on that it shouldnt be stopped, but the media, the governing body, and anyone with guns and pitch forks need to canceled for the irreversible damage they cause to everyone else as a result of these things happening. Toto and his wife's situation seems to be a more clear cut obvious conflict of interest while we haven't seen any evidence for Horner's so he needs to stop barking. As for Brown he brings shame to the McLaren name by being the attention seeking shoulder parrot for Mercedes rather than the respectable owner of one of the most legendary teams in F1. Bad taste from the media on sweeping some cases under the rug and highlighting others. The Andretti case is still fresh as well

The "elephant" in the room wouldn't be there if journalists had respect for the process at hand. Regardless of what you think about Christian he is still a person who deserves a chance to defend himself against these claims, these kind of videos, articles and reports make it impossible for him to do that. Asking him questions when you know he legally can't answer, picking words to rile him up and goad him into saying something just so you can get a scoop for your article is deplorable. Not to mention involving other team principals to create more stories, adding to the speculation by talking about his tone and body language, that's what's creating a tense situation not Christian trying to do his job and be there for the team he has devoted 20 years to.

For all the people going, but why should he step aside during the investigation...well.... A) you don't know what the allegations are---stepping aside is NOT being fired without cause, it is stop gap measure between investigation and the eventual truth B) this is literally common practice in business because this person may be causing harm to the company/brand/employees who work under them and to not have them step aside if actually proved guilty may lead to feelings of mistrust amongst employees in how seriously any potential future claims would be taken if that person is just allowed to continue on as if nothing is happening. Horner saying "business as usual" will definitely be the line the media run with IF anything does come out of this. C)Most companies have THICK AF packets of ethical morality clause paperwork that one must sign in blood-- again, extremely common. These can even extend to activities you do/don't do outside of work as you are a representative of that company-- it basically is designed to save a companies a-- should you do any wrong doing according to said documents and make it super easy for them to fire you. Remember a certain junior driver who dropped a certain word in a livestream---how quickly was he disappeared.

Why are journalists so upset over the idea of innocent until proven guilty? Yes there has been an accusation, should every single person be punished and the team dragged down over every accusation? If he's innocent and being removed as principle then what? The team is at a great loss, a new principle has to replace him. Is it fair on him, the team, the fans? If he is guilty he will be punished when that is proven, what's the problem? Also, for what it's worth this doesn't meet that standard either.

In short, its not that awkward. There was a singular complaint about how Horner would adress this person/a group of people in the team. Due to the competitiveness of F1 and the aim of trying to win the championship it is understandable that emotions and regulations play a huge role in achieving said goal. The real awkwardness comes from all the media attention, who blow up the entire issue so much more than it has to be. There is an investigation ongoing and with all due respect, there is a real chance that Horner is deemed innocent. The man has received so much backlash about a thus far unproven situation, that I believe he should be receiving some sort of monetary compensation for the destruction of his image due to a possibly false claim.
