I bought (at discount price) his Music Theory and Songwriting course. Man, it's just amazing! Didn't finished yet (about 1/2 of the course). I'm taking my time to wrap every single concept he explains, and then try to practice them until I fully understand. It's absolutely awesome how he explain every concept. Also the worksheets are very useful. It was my first paid "guitar" course too, but it definitely worth the full price (even when it's almost my full dayjob salary here in Argentina)

This guy is, hands down, the best music youtuber on the planet (by far). His content, his production, clarity, not to mention his delivery and his easy going, friendly demeanour - all of it adds up to sheer excellence and a pleasure to watch and listen to. While I'm not in a position to become a patreon at the moment, it is something I'd dearly wish to do, given the time and effort required to make the most of it, which I don't currently have. (Excellent as always Jake. From the youtuber formerly known as "Earthling" but cancelled by youtube).

I feel ya. I've been wanting to be a patreon since I first found Jakes channel. But I've been struggling even before cov1d hit so couldn't afford to. You should see my guitar, omg it's barely playable, I rescued it from a local school who were throwing it to the dump. I've cleaned it up, rehumidified the wood as it was dry and cracked (had to fill in the cracks with wood glue) and layered it with olive oil. Then set it, the action was an inch or more off the fretboard, & bought new strings 2 years ago. Sorry for making a short story long, I hope things get better and on track for you. ✌🙂👍🇦🇺❤

For everyone wondering if the rhythm course is available yet... It is! At least a good portion of it. And it's only on his website so far, not yet on youtube. I've been waiting and watching my youtube notifications bell for this course ever since this video was posted, literally refreshing daily. Turns out I should have been checking his website instead of his youtube channel. The course is already released! It's just not up on youtube. It appears it's not complete yet either, but I've already started watching the first couple video entries in the course. I also had to pay one dollar, which was the minimum amount required to add it to the cart, so heads up on that.

For the past couple weeks I've been checking my youtube notifications each morning with the hopes of seeing that the first entry in this course has been posted. There's only one day of August left, and I'm practically giddy at the prospect of starting the course tomorrow(!) That said, I am happy to wait as long as it takes the Great Jake ;) to complete the content to his satisfaction. I mean... the fact that he's putting this out *for free* is just so awesome and is imo a reflection of his generosity as a person. It is SO very appreciated. I'm unemployed and therefore kinda struggling right now, so I can't justify paying for a guitar course at this time. But rhythm is undeniably the weakest point in my playing, so I feel like this is just exactly what I need. Thanks, Jake... seriously. 🙂 As soon as I'm able to, I'll become a patron - expressing my appreciation for this free rhythm course is reason enough for me to do so, with all the other perks of becoming a patron being proverbial icing on the cake.

Jake there a so so so many trash guitar courses and trash teachers online and it is seriously annoying to be bombarded by ads for them simply because I've shown an interest in guitar. Then we have teachers/instructors like you who let their quality and experience do the advertising and it's such a breath of fresh air. This video for once isnt an ad and anything you have done and likely will do is top quality. Its too bad the algorithm might keep your lessons from being seen by the beginners who would benefit most from seeing them. I've been playing close to 20 years and I'm a proficient player with good theory knowledge but I STILL get something from every single one of your lessons even if it's just wholesome entertainment. You're doing EXACTLY what you should be doing in life my friend. I look forward to your future lessons and content and will happily accept quality over excessive quantity any day of the week.
