What's going on with the vacant K-Mart in Ramona?

The former Kmart in Ramona has a lot of people wondering when someone will move into the abandoned building.
CBS 8 has been Working for You to get answers about vacant properties and that old Kmart is one we've received a lot of questions about.
The Kmart closed in 2020. Since then, the 100,000-square-foot building still sits empty and boarded up.
“This is blight, this is so blight,” said Kathy Williams, Ramona resident.
The former Kmart in the Ramona Station shopping center is boarded up with a chain wrapped around the door handles.
“We deserve better,” said Williams.
In a public records search, CBS 8 found after Kmart closed, in 2022 the property was sold to Ramona Station LLC for $7.3 million.

A random KMART is closed in a country I was last at in the 80's and I find it interesting. I really turned out to be a boring adult. Hello America from New Zealand.

I do agree ramona needs a department store. Ross would be great, but I don't think they would need such a big building. So breaking up the space would be a good idea.

I went on a free shopping spree in this kmart when i was in kindergarten. Good times 😁

When I lived in Ramona (1991) we had to drive down the mountain to get a grocery store.
