What's happening to 4080s prices?

Prices of 4090s are crazy now. Can 4080 be next?

Thanks for the vid, definitely see the same problem happening with market price of GPUs as what we saw in the past lately. Recently bought 4070, I was considering to return the card, because of super lineup coming up. However, this video, and past experience tells me - generational improvements come with a higher cost. Gone are the days, where you buy a 70 series next generation for the same amount of money with better performance. Definitely expecting NVIDIA to keep increasing the prices and then dropping super cards with a much higher price than the baseline models. 4070 for 600$ is already stupid price, I am a fool for buying it, but I feel like I would be a bigger fool for waiting for super cards, just to be screwed again and spend 150$ more for a super card with 10% more performance.

The steam charts are certainly interesting I had no idea the 60 series gpus were so popular. Im hoping to upgrade my own 2060 when the super cards come out and I dont know if It will be easier to sell my 2060 or harder because I get the feeling a lot of people are thinking the same as me. Going to try and sell my whole pc at 60% and hopefully that will be enough to push me to am5 platform and 16gb of vram with a little extra upgrade budget.

The XX60 cards have always been the most popular/highest quantity cards in the world. Same with 960, 1650 (I count this instead of the 1060), 2060, 3060, now 4060 is rising too but a bit slower due to price hikes.

interresting, i thought or hoped the price of the 4090 would come down after the ban (because there would be more cards available) but the opposite happened. Now the price goes up, i think some people are mass buying 4090 and despite the ban selling them to china?

We can only speculate. The most popular theory is that AIB partners, aware of the impending ban, sent all their stock to China where the prices were already inflated. Another theory is that NVIDIA slowed down the production of the 4090 to avoid cannibalizing their sales of professional GPUs.

Yes, more and more games are boring and just uninteresting. I would recommend getting a PS5 and only playing games on it. PC gaming is unreasonably expensive for no reason other than corporate greed. cheers ;)
