Last june, Aus gov cut off their 189 visa score to 85 point for registered nurses. Those meant that if you are living in offshore, you need to have more than 7yrs career as a RN, you should get highst eng score, until you being 31yrs old. Yes the health care giver's era is gone. I storongly recommend if you have other option just considering other conturies too.

I took the TOEFL IBT but I took it at home, not understanding that the at home online version would not be accepted by the department of home affairs. Next my wife and I will both be taking the OET (she’s taking it today!) Would have taken OET instead right away except it’s a 2.5 hr drive each way from our home to the testing center. :( Things I wish were included as I cannot easily find them online: What percentile of OET takers get what kind of score? We are not taking the test to demonstrate basic English (we are born and raised and have 18+ years working as nurses in the USA,) but rather increase our points for application. My toefl score was great according to toefl or university, but it still was not good enough to prove superior English (you have to get a perfect reading score for example.) next I’ll take the OET, but I wish I knew how many test takers get a score good enough for “superior” English. It would also be so nice to know what ratio or percentage of EOI applicants are invited. We are able to see scores from previous rounds of invitations but not the number of applicants. Now I am waiting hopefully for an invitation. I would be honored to come and be a part of Australia’s robust healthcare system and society along with my wife and 2 children. If I had known 5 years ago that the age limitations were so close, I should have started the process earlier. Losing 10 points just because I have a birthday is a bit rough.

Healthcare occupations include doctors, nurses, dentists, veterinarians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, optometrists, general practitioners, psychologists, allied health professionals, pharmacists, radiographers, speech pathologists, podiatrists, dietitians and more (you can check the Skilled Occupation List to find if your occupation). For aged care services, aged care nurse is included. Health promotion officers do not seem to be for migration purposes.

I started following you on KZbin after I have already applied for a 189 visa. I have 65 points without taking an English competency exam. But I only have 65 points because I am currently 39 years old. I will turn 40 in December this year and my big question is at what point is my age locked in for visa purposes? If I don’t secure an invitation to apply before I turn 40, do my point go down? Am I responsible to update my EOI on my birthday?

Hi :) The best thing you can do is to follow updates on the Department of Home Affairs website, or get in touch with a MARA-registered migration agent (portal.mara.gov.au/search-the-register-of-migration-agents/) as they are your best sources for legal migration advice - because the migration landscape is constantly changing! (Please do not accept advice from people who are not registered migration agents, it is illegal to provide professional migration /visa advice without registration).

Hi dear, Silly doubt. Do I need ANMAC assessment if I come to Australia on a 482 visa? One of the hospitals is ready to give me 482 visa. Once I am coming closer to expiration of that I will apply for PR. So when is ANMAC neccessary? Is it when I apply for PR. or now? Is there any validity for ANMAC assessment? Hey :) You probably need to get a skills assessment to assess the comparability of your international qualification to the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) + your UK experience. From a migration point of view, the Department of Home Affairs accepts a variety of tests. But the OET Test is the leading one for healthcare professionals (as mentioned in the video, all the OET questions are relevant to healthcare, and not other topics - so it makes it easier to study and prepare for the test if you are in the healthcare industry - you know what to expect basically).
