space, something a person may not understand by investing their whole life into it, but it is something that will help the next curious mind get one step closer to a better understanding. There is one thing we all can agree on regardless of our levels of comprehension. IT IS the most beautiful sight that constantly changes.

Fun fact, only 3 types of nebula come from stars dying, Protoplanetary nebula (like the Boomerang Nebula) in which the stars actively spew out their mass from the north and south pole, Planetary nebula (like the Helix Nebula), which is the final result of a protoplanetary nebula, and Supernova remnants (Such as the Crab Nebula) which are produced by supernovas. There are actually 3 more types of nebula, Reflection nebula, clouds of gas that get light from the surrounding stars, Emission nebula (like the Orion Nebula), where clouds of gas emit light from it's own fuel, and Dark nebula (like the Horsehead Nebula) that actively block light from emitting, instead visible usually from the complete absence of light.

Do you have to go somewhere far out to reduce the light from the cities? I remember as a kid that there were so many more stars you could see. I remember being able to just go out and look up and stare at all the stars. Now, you can only see a handful where I live. Even when I recently went to Utah out in the middle of nowhere it wasn't like it used to be. The only time I remember it being amazing again was when I was on a cruise in the middle of the Gulf during the time when the moon was up during the day, so nights were super dark.

This telescope is insanely small for that magnification? May i ask which one it is? Im looking to replace my big 750mm F4 newton for a smaller APO with much less focal length. I enjoyed 750mm a lot on full frame but since i „downgraded“ to APS-C i need a wider field of view now. 750mm was already tight but doable for many subjects but 1000mm+ is „bad“ unless i want to go for very small nebula and galaxies Also i just want something else than the newtonian telescopes characteristics.

I’ve got the Orion Nebula before but I’ve tried the horse head nebula and never see it. I use a Orion 90mm astroview telescope do you think it has enough power to capture it?
@dimensio_italian_magician
@dimensio_italian_magician Жыл бұрын
Horsehead nebula is very dark and faint. 90mm isn't very good for faint objects, but if you used a equatorial tracking mount and a long exposure camera on the telescope, you could capture the nebula. Orion Nebula, on the other hand, is actually the brightest nebula in the whole sky.
