how cool the siren buttons and everything are implemented, even showing the lights on the main screen, love that

The City/Countryside setting for the siren adjusts the pitch. Inside of a city, a higher pitched tone can more easily travel around the corners of buildings and other obstacles, while the lower pitched tone outside of the city can travel further. The german fire and rescue and civil protection services as well as some larger police cars also have a compressed air siren that is way louder than the electrionic siren. The microphone in the glove box @1:50 is for the PA (Public Address) system, it is not connected to the radio. The gun locker in the front passenger side door usually holds a submachine gun like the Heckler & Koch MP5. Police officers have personal handguns holstered on their belt, so this weapon is rarely used. The unknown button @2:55 has an antenna icon and is most likely the main radio switch (Funkhauptschalter). It will turn on or off the police radio. Bavarian Police cars are all equipped with a Sepura-made TETRA Mobile Radio Terminal. You can still see the mounting holes for the radio interface, called a Handset-Based Console, on the plastic to the right of the A/C vents. In your other video you can still see the mounting crade for the HBC. To the right of the gear lever is the mount for the analog radio interface, likely some variation of the FunkTronic Commander BOS, attached to a FuG8 or Teledux9 analog radio. The actual radios themselves are often mounted in the bottom or the sides of the trunk or under the seats. The radio antenna is integrated into the car's tailfin antenna along with the standard FM radio and GPS antennae. The license plate number (N PP 2296) is still visible on the keys. This car belonged to the Polizeipräsidium Mittelfranken, based in Nuremburg. Most bavarian police cars are registered in the city where that region's police are headquartered, followed by "PP" for Polizeipräsidium (Police Headquarters) or some variation (Augsburg has PS for Polizeipräsidium Schwaben). Unmarked police cars then receive a second license plate with "random" letters and numbers, registered in or near the region it will be deployed to. The silver and green livery was used by the bavarian police between 2002-2016. Oftentimes the radio callsign of the car is printed on the roof to make them easily identifiable from police helicopters, but here it was either already removed or never installed in the first place.

Wow... you know your police cars. A lot better than me that's for sure. Do you work for the police? I'm gonna ping your comment, so people see it. It's gonna be like the video's description.

@@Megadriver I work for a company specialising in bespoke vehicle building and refitting for emergency services. We basically don't ever get regular marked police cars as they are purchased in production runs of hundreds and require very different processes, but we've built specialized vehicles for customs, corrections, unmarked police, fire brigade, rescue services, disaster relief and the like.

Thank you for sharing! A few years ago, i heard about "Onboard weapons" secret option in the BMW menu, my guess it was a police car option - and it's plausible seeing that the car has a completely different menu layout.

wonder if it's remapped
@Megadriver6 ай бұрын
I don't think so... drives like a regular 320d. Also a remap would void the warranty, so I doubt the police mod them.
@warrockneurd6 ай бұрын
Ofcourse its remapped. Atleast stage 1, which requires no change in parts. I dont believe that the government cares about warranty, in the end the people of the country pay for it.

20d would be way too under powered for Autobahn use so surprised they didn't go for just the 30d.
@Megadriver6 ай бұрын
@@darylyatestransportblogs The 320d has 163hp and will happily do 240kmh. That's more than enough for a regular police car. Most cars nowadays are limited to 250kmh anyway. There are dedicated chaser cars on the Autobahn with more power and a higher top speed.

where did you get it like that? They usually remove all blue lights and control units before throwing the cars on VEBEG or customs auction

I work for a company that stores new and used cars prior to transport to the next owner/ middle man. Some of our clients include the police, fire department and ambulances. Back when I filmed this video in 2015 (I think), I was only a part-time driver at the company. Now I work in management, so I can upload a few interesting videos, without worrying about "illegal videos". I was also one of the first people to see and drive the BMW i8 when it came out, because we have a contract with BMW. We had entire car parks full of the damn things, ready to ship out.
