Thank you for your spectacular work. Have you ever used the 24-70 GM and 70-200 GM at weddings? What are the advantages of prime lenses and zoom lenses at a wedding? I don't know if you've made a video talking about this. Thanks again for your time.

The instax with the wooden box was the best piece of info this whole video, and there was a lot of great info! Question, how often do you do off camera flash for weddings?
@MagicWeddingPhotographer3 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! Regarding the flash - mostly on camera, very rarely I shoot with off camera flash

Very thoughtful of you to give the couple a gift at the end of the wedding! I'm shooting my first wedding in September, and I think I'm going to try this out. I presume you shoot RAW and JPEG, so that you can transfer the JPEGs to use for printing at the end of the wedding?

"suprise" "they don't expect anything like this"... Well not if they haven't watched this video or got a recommendation for you from friends haha. In any case thanks for sharing! Very nice indeed! It's that little "extra". The cherry on top of the whipped cream on top of the icecream ^.^ And yes... LEGO sometimes is rather lazy with those heads... they could add some generic head at least. The best Mando minifig comes with the smallest pack though. Also: Keep your eyes open for this years advent calendar! Christmas edition Mando and Baby Yoda (no spoiler names here...).

haha yes, hopefully my clients won't necessary watch 15 min video of me showing what's in my backpack :P I'll get that Mando for sure and advent calendar too - I saw leaks! :D

Wow, you are really the first wedding photographer who does not use a 70-200. why is this. Everybody swears on it and I am just building out my kit and trying to get confident with it for my second wedding and thought I should really have a 70-200.
@BroBrown3572 жыл бұрын
I’ve been doing weddings for years and I would never do one without my Sony 70-200 2.8 GM and that lens would do as good a job than half the lenses he has in his bag and it’s less stressful for me to not be changing lenses constantly while doing a wedding. I’m an old school photographer so I also use the Sony 24-70 2.8 GM and those two lenses gets me through most if not all of the wedding. I’ll bring one prime for backup, either the 50 1.2 or the Zeiss Batis 85 1.8 and that’s it. I also bring two Sony speed lights, one for backup,because I rarely put a flash on my second camera body, the Sony a9 and the 70-200 normally stays on that camera. The 70-200 allows you to capture candid shots that you could rarely capture with primes without being all up on the bride and groom and their guests, unless you had the Sony 135 1.8, I hear that’s a great lens but it’s fixed at 135 so it limits your opportunities on what to capture.
@flol32662 жыл бұрын
@@BroBrown357 After viewing a lot of different wedding photographers and also shooting a wedding for myself, I also jumped on the prime wagon. You get images you can never achieve with a zoom lens. That dreamy look, playing with a little distortion here and there, telling a story. It’s really hard to do that with a 70-200 if not impossible. I got myself also a 70-200 but only for larger ceremonies, after that, I am on something like the 35 most of the time. Sometimes 24 for more artistic shots and the dance floor and then the 50 for more portrait style. I have never used a 24-70 and never missed it. Pictures with primes wide open and the right editing, are delivering a look that is outstanding and I like them better most of the time.

Hey Magic, What do you use for your Macro shots of the rings?
@MagicWeddingPhotographer3 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael, I actually don't have any specific macro lens for that, but I do freelens with my 35 or 50mm - have you ever tried that for macro? It's quite difficult, but gives great effect!
@mrivkinr3 жыл бұрын
@@MagicWeddingPhotographer Hey Magic, I've never tried a 50mm or a 35mm for macro shots however I'm sure it works well if that's what you use... That new 50mm 1.2 GM that's in your bag must be nice.
@MagicWeddingPhotographer3 жыл бұрын
But keep in mind that what I do with these lenses is Freelens, meaning I umnount the lens and keep it close to the mount of the camera - google freelens, it's awesome. Super hard though !
