Good video, lots of useful information. Only reason why I would suggest you consider getting a more expensive bag is the zipper quality and higher denier nylon. Confidence is in knowing when something bad happens, thats not the day your backpack decides to burst a seam or break a zipper.

Definitely agree on the zipper, but I’ve had the expensive bags and just couldn’t justify the cost. If this one fails, I’d consider going back to them 👍

I thought I was the only one with an EDB, mine is a cheapo Bezosland bag as well. A bit bigger but only because it doubles as a 72hr bag. Glad I found this channel and looking forward to binging your work. ... 97.65% of all that gear is dead weight. For city/urban EDC: Get yourself a small to medium sling shoulder bag. phone/wallet/keys....and one of each 1. firearm 2. knife 3. flashlight 4. watch 5. earbuds 6. tourniqet 7. small water filter or tablets 8. battery bank 9. bic lighter 10. mini mylar emergency space blanket or bivvy 11. one pair of wool socks 12. one wool beanie or neck gaiter (season dependant) 13. one pair of gloves (season dependant) 14. 3 ft of duck tape wrapped around a playing card 15. one small snack 16. Silcock key 17. local map and compass 18. Permethrin (season dependant) 19. small travel toothbrush 20. 6 ft of bank line Now if you're hiking long distance or camping, i would upgerade from sling bag to hiking bag and add appropriate gear. For normal urban every day carry You really dont need more than those 20 items i listed with the right training. Light weight and In fact half of them are still luxery items. Carrying too much crap every dayand you wont carry anything at all.

I would say you need to add some kind of water filter, And honestly I went with a bigger pack for my EDC as well because I'm always working outside and I had to switch to warming layers or rain gear and I don't feel like leaving it in the truck.

Thats crazy you carry handcuff and face-paint. I consider those mission specific items, not on the daily. Also, one pair of gloves should be enough.

You have 15 different face/head coverings and two pairs of gloves but only one pair of socks. You have no water filtration The handcuffs and baton are an extra 5lbs of uselessness you're never ever going to use. You really only need 1 or the other of the rain covers. Your med kit appears to be just a booboo kit, not to mention it should be the most easily accessible piece of your equipment and you have it buried. Ditch whatever that toy light is and get a quality light. Also keep the batteries in it so when you actually need a light you dont have to stop and put it together. Plasma lighters are the least dependable fire source besides a glass of water. I also didn't see any pokey cutty stabby things or anything to keep one sharp in your bag, what about a good multitool? In any kind of kit like this ounces are pounds and you have literal pounds of unnecessary items as well as several very important things that are missing. Shed all of that extra stuff and notice how much of a difference it makes in your EDC. I too use to carry a 40 pound edc bag every day like I was going to get caught in the middle of Red Dawn and once you shed all the extra weight and dial in your edc you actually feel stupid for all the extra shit you use to carry.

Wouldnt think monks swear so much…. Handcuffs? Really? Zip-cuffs save weight and don’t require a key (which will get lost.) Thats a big bag full of excess weight. Water, food, medical. Should prioritize these items. Wardrobe changes over time. Two sets of gloves? Two gaiters? Buying two of the same cheap items is less effective than one decent item. Your redundancies could be solved with some patagonia, mystery ranch, or mil surplus, etc. • One principle to pack by: everything needs at least two functions.
