What's in my bird hunting vest?

Good start, in addition to those items I also carry a battery pack and cable for my phone, a LED flashlight, An MRE, A space blanket, rain poncho (orange), and signal mirror. Oh and a back up whistle.

Thank you for all the great content. I love your videos as you always cover the dog aspect of upland hunting. I have wirehairs as well and wouldn’t bird hunt without a dog. The dog work is one of my favorite aspects of the adventure and you always highlight that. Thank you again for such great product!

I suggest some Zip ties, plastic wire ties that can be used to hold open a conibear trap if your dog gets caught. There are many videos out there that show how to use them. It will save their life and weigh next to nothing.

Scott, I noticed you’re using a Wingworks vest in the video. Right now, it’s my favorite, and I love mine, but always looking. Have you found anything as good, but perhaps lighter. If needed, send a PM if you can’t answer online.

The Cabela's strap vest is made of lighter fabric with the same general configuration and I use it as much as the WingWorks. It's all about how much water you need to carry and what infrastructure you need to support it.
