The shoe horn makes perfect sense, not for public transportation as taking your shoes off in a bus or train is unacceptable, but just in case you go to someone's place and have to take off your shoes when you get in. Also for airport security, I find this helpful. Pretty much everything you listed is something I have in mine except the camera. The only thing that I have that you don't is a small flashlight, a Swiss Army knife, and a pair of earbud headphones.

Well it is really interesting to see what you carry since it’s much similar to what you usually take except camera No toiletries? In another post I asked you if you could please give advice of what to take in a duffel bag for a weekend in the country or the beach. It’s difficult for me to minimize and the duffel always ends being not enough! 👍🏻

Nice video but you left out three essential items: 1. Flashlight, I always have a flashlight in my briefcase, you never know when the power will go out, or you need to look into an unlit space. 2.. Multi tool with screw driver. I use mine all the time to tighten up a desk, pull staples out of a clogged stapler, open boxes/cut string. (Removed when flying or entering buildings that don’t allow knives. 3. Band aids. Perfect for when you cut yourself, or those new shoes are causing hot spots.

Haha! Filson is fantastic. One of my favorite briefcases. If you're looking for something kind of in between the casualness of the Filson and a leather briefcase, I recommend checking out Bennett Winch.

Checked out Bennett Winch. Nice and clean style. Not cheap but also not Ft. Knox level. I don't think the briefs can hold all my EDC but the chocolate Weekender has its hooks into me. Cheers!@@hespokestyle

Hey Brian, Great video. I know this is an older one but I had a question about the Filson. Do you think this bag can double up as a camera bag? Appreciate you mentioned your Leica. I have the Fuji X100T (I really enjoy it but would love the Leica as it’s full frame) a 5D MK II and a hasselblad and Mamiya 7. Also sorry I know you said you’re not a camera guy, basically a few of them have some decent bulk, I used to use a Billingham whilst at university but I’ve really gone off it and would love a Filson. I also use a briefcase for my daily job so wondered if it could do both? Thanks in advance

Not sure about if you read comments on videos this old, but I guess I'll find out. Do you think that you need to match your leather briefcase with your shoes, or is it okay to wear a dark brown briefcase with black leather shoes?

Great question. Dark leathers should be okay together. However, if your shoes are lighter, I would definitely go with a lighter briefcase.

How do you make a decision in purchasing a briefcase? Some of the briefcase I saw have handles that resemble a woman's purse which puts me off.

It really comes down to what you need the briefcase for the most. Are you looking for something very business-like or do you want something more casual like the Filson I've got here?
