Here from TikTok and Instagram!! Love you Becca and loved visiting with you for longer over here!! I am an extremely sentimental person and as a kid was terrified that my home would set of fire. Seeing the LA fires has been heartbreaking (like so many other things this year - ugh 💔). But it’s made me think so much of what I would grab in a situation like this. I’d never before heard the laundry basket tip but goodness that makes so much sense. Thank you for sharing your treasures (and essentials! Haha). Can’t wait to see your next one!! 💙

Welcome to KZbin! What stood out to me from this video is how much care and love and thoughtfulness you have put into the items throughout your entire home. For example, I don't think there's a single thing in my kitchen that I have any nostalgia for or any 'specialness' that would make me want to choose it to save. You've collected things over the years that mean something to you and also you actually use them or have them out to look at. I hope as I settle into my home I make sure to take inspiration from you and infuse that specialness through all of my home, not just my clothing or boxed up mementos.
@thebeccamurray8 күн бұрын
that means so much! as long as i’m going to own something, why not make it something i love? it keeps me from throwing money into stuff i’m meh about. the little forks & spoons & knives collection started as souvenirs on vacation, which allowed me to use them & remember the trip on a daily basis, instead of buying something “special” that only comes out once in a while. i’m also a huge proponent (even more so since i inherited my parents’ wedding china & my great grandma’s silver) of USING the nice things.

I'm watching this giggling and also moved to tears. (Why does your packing a bunch of cutlery make so much sense? 😂) I'm so glad you feel like you can unpack. I'd love a jewelry tour at some point, and a sourdough bread-making lesson.

It's deeply relieving to see you and your partner safe, with your home intact! While unpacking these go-bags must stir a lot of things up for you, I think there's something really meaningful about sharing what we deem most precious when faced with difficult choices. Seeing those well-loved aprons made me a little teary. I love that you threw a bag of fragrance samples in your go-bag! I've got so many full bottles (400+ I know, I know, overconsumption, but perfume is the thing I collect, it's my vice, and I tell myself there are worse ones to have? Probably?) Anyway, I have samples scattered all over the house I'd never be able to pick any of those little vials but insofar as full bottles I'd grab my Stora Skuggan Hexensalbe (smells like a pulsating wormwood witches rave under a full emerald moon) and Oriza L. Legrand (smells like like a Ken Russel fever dream starring trippy nuns and horny gothic sex nerds Byron and Shelley.) I also remember you mentioning on the other app how your partner asked you to grab his sworn and armor (I think it was?) And I was like, what would I charge my spouse with grabbing? And I hit on it: my creepy antique porcelain dolls! My weird scary babies! Gotta have them! Anyway, so excited to see more long form content from you. And as a fellow lover of jewels and sparkles and baubles, I would love to see a tour of the current state of your collection.

you get it! i’ve been working my way through the sample bag & something about not being able to wear all of them if it went away almost felt worse than losing a full bottle i could rebuy? it’s wild how our brains work in those moments

I wish it hadn’t been for such a traumatic reason, but I do love a “what’s in my bag” video. I watched a lot of vlogs in the 2010’s, but eventually was in such a different place from the creators, it wasn’t as fun to watch. After enjoying so much of your short-form stuff, I can’t wait to see the nuance and storytelling you’ll be able to accomplish with long form.

It’s my first time here, I clicked because out of all the “go bag” videos- you and your partner had the foresight to include “what if we couldn’t go back.” No other informative video has included that, and now it seems quite obvious how critical that is. Slightly off topic- 27:38, I would wear pair this necklace with the Onyx Caftan from the SanDiego designer, JennaferGrace (yes, with an A). Savings can be found their app and also ebay/poshmark, but is worth the investment. This ensemble works for brunch with sandals or converse and a wedding worth heels. This caftan looks fabulous in Atlanta temps, but can be paired with layers, palazzo pants/tights and boots for a beach wedding. Much Love.😊

It's genuinely lovely seeing those things that meant the most to you in those moments, and yes - yours of jewellery, skincare, and clothes would be lovely, you've got great style so it would be cool to see your collections in more depth. I ended up with my own magic ring story this year - lost it on holiday in Vancouver, cycled round all of Stanley Park, and my partner saw it glinting on the busy street near the bike shop. An older lady on a park bench started clapping because he was kneeling down with a ring and I was crying...we were too embarrassed to admit it wasn't a proposal when she was so happy haha

I hear you on being prepared. I live in OC and I keep an earthquake bag in my car in case I'm out driving and an earthquake take out the overpasses on the freeway and I need to hike home. On xmas day my stove went out when I was hosting dinner for 7 and between multiple bbq's and our camper van stove we still served a full feast with days of leftovers.
