Is your ring too tight? I saw your finger was red! I would recommend you taking them off as soon as possible. In case of an emergency c section, if they can’t get it off, they will cut it off.
@savannahallen30825 жыл бұрын
R&Cplus3 That’s something I thought about. Future reference, maybe switch to one of those silicone rings if you (as is anyone lol) just want to wear a ring when hands are swollen. I see people wear them at the gym and stuff! Would be so sad to have my ring cut off. 🥺❤️
@Nina-ex5xd5 жыл бұрын
Genuine question, why would they cut her ring off? I’ve had an emergency C section and a semi planned c section and they didn’t make me remove my rings
@itsbeenbraaton7045 жыл бұрын
Marina R From what I’ve been told, it’s due to possible burns. I believe the machine they use to stop bleeding can send a shock of some sort through your body and it can heat up the metal on your finger or neck or whatever you’re wearing. I’m not positive but I’ve heard of it being done and I’ve had them take my jewelry off as well, and I’ve had 3 c sections.
@Nina-ex5xd5 жыл бұрын

Karlita’s Way yes. And a lot of them you can use as shower shoes too if need be, although I will often stand on two wash clothes at hospital, shower or public place. At least the first time, then you can make sure when they come in to clean they really clean the shower floor.

Where’d you get your toiletry bag from?
@lmeirelesxo5 жыл бұрын
I work on L&D and I recommend to all the patients to leave their bags in the trunk of the car until they are actually admitted or better yet, after they have delivered. I have seen WAY too many times pts arrive with suitcases like they are moving in and they aren’t even in labour and are sent home over and over. Also, the hospital is not responsible for stolen items so if you’re rushed to the OR for an emergency section your belongings will be unattended. Just something to keep in mind. Also, L&D should be for the mom and dad to be only. Keep the family visits for the postpartum side :) that’s just my 2 cents. Good luck!!!

Ok here’s a couple things NO ONE told me about post partum that I wish someone did - so much blood, for about 4 weeks. I had a C section and I didn’t think I would bleed a lot but I was wrong. Vaginal or C section expect a lot of blood - breastfeeding is so painful in the beginning. It will take up to a week for your milk to come in, until then it’s just colostrum. When the milk comes in it feels like tingling/sharp pain.. at least it did for me - your hormones will be all over the place! I cried about everything for like 4 weeks, happy/sad/upset, you’ll feel overwhelmed but I promise it gets better after those initial 4 weeks I hope that is insightful! So happy for you & cant wait to see baby boy!

Yes definitely bring your own towels, wash cloths and flip flops for showering. Their towels are small, thin and rough. You can call ahead to see what hospital will provide for mommy and baby and then just pack what they don't give you. I know each hospital is different on what they provide. For my first baby I was an over packer and didn't use a lot of things while staying there. I'd pack small makeup bag becuz after baby you may feel less pretty and for me just putting on some mascara and lip gloss made me feel better.

I know you will be an amazing mama!! Also who cares if people think you’re “over packing” honestly me personally packing so much unnecessary stuff in my hospital diaper bag to the point it was stuffed, makes me giggle thinking back. It’s a sweet fond memory I have for it being my first time and wanted to be prepared. Like you said you never know but honestly being a first time mom it’s FUN to prepare and pack and get cute little clothes for baby all of that!!
@tararainone50605 жыл бұрын
If you can’t wash the slippers you might not want to bring. They do give you grippy socks to wear. I wouldn’t bother with bringing towels because when it’s wet you will have to bring it home. When you do a walk of the hospital you can see what they offer. I don’t remember the towels being small. You should obviously only take these suggestions if they work for you. Like you said everyone is different. Bring an empty bag for any gifts and all the stuff you get from the hospital. Anything on the cart such as diapers and wipes they can’t take back and reuse. So take everything! You already mentioned taking a bag for dirty clothes which is also my other must!

One thing i wish i brought was a loofah. I had to get an emergency c section and was very tired and weak after, so it was super hard to shower and wash myself! I ended up using a hospital washcloth and body wash, but i think a loofah would have made it a lot easier, softer, and quicker. You might want to pack an extra bag to keep at home in case you need a c section, that way if you have one, you can just send anthony to grab it. I had to video chat with my husband and guide him to grab extra comfy clothes, more face wash, socks, etc.
@janellel85285 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you over packed.. you could end up being there for a couple days depending what happens. If a c section happens it will be a few days! You did great. Hey meg! I’ve been following you for a long time and it’s so cool to see u have your first baby. I just had mine this past June and I brought too much crap. You are doing really well with your packing tho! I let these KZbin vids influence me too much lol I’ll give you some suggestions that would have worked for me! Good luck 💛 -YES to the hair and makeup products -Yes to the depends. 1pck is good enough then a pack of regular pads and panty liners. Don’t get huge packs either cause I had a lot left over, you don’t bleed that much. -Bring your own hygiene stuff and wet wipes. I had to wash myself off at the sink cause of my IV. They give you towels and they get dirty fast so I wouldn’t use my own cause they aren’t guna wash it for you. You will be very messy down there the first few days. -loose pajamas are cool, you would be able to see your big hospital pads or diaper though leggings. -they gave me everything but baby powder for my son. -I brought him clothes but 7lbs he was still swimming in newborn clothes and stayed swaddled the whole time anyway. They don’t give baby socks and yes bring the coming home outfit. -I took house slippers as well -DONT BE NERVOUS. Labor is not half as bad as women make it out to be. I can’t believe how bad is WASNT and that’s with 4 hours of pushing 🙄 I had an epidural and You don’t feel a damn thing I swear. And you don’t feel the needle for that either! -also babies will get used to whatever bottle or pacifier u give them so pick whatever kind you have an abundance of. -if u want to breastfeed please start from the beginning and don’t stop. No one told me how anything works and I let the fact that I had visitors in the room stop me and I also slept all I could when I got home and used the milk the hospital gave us. When I finally tried to start it was too late. I thought it flowed like a river but I was wrong! Lol -also fenugreek pills are good for milk flow. I let a lady tell me they weren’t good cause your baby will have gas but it’s only for the few days u take it so you can kickstart your milk. I waited to long to try them. Just get the baby frida thing for gas and they are good to go. -If there’s one thing you should buy for sure when he is born is the nose frida. Out of all the basics we use this is the product you will be thanking god you have when your baby gets sniffles after a while.

Do not be afraid to ask for anything you may need in the hospital. Of course they will give the basics for after birth. For example if you are cramping, ask for a heat pad. They will give it to you, you just need to ask. My friend is a delivery nurse and she told me what to ask for if I didn’t get something.

If you are worried about bringing your stuff and it getting germy, you can buy some Lysol laundry sanitizer to wash everything after you get home! Also I am glad I packed my own diapers bc our baby ended up turning bright red on his bottom from the pampers the hospital provided
@elisiacasados82675 жыл бұрын
Hey girl, I've had 2 babies, n I LIVED in leggings personally. I also used the overnight long pads instead of the "diaper" underwear things, I felt those were the best n the leggings helped keep it in place, I was uncomfortable with baggy bottoms, also don't forget nursing pads, as you'll start leaking if you plan on breastfeeding. Flip flops for showering are awesome too. I also highly suggest snacks for both as you will get breakfast lunch and dinner but you will get hungry later at night and your gonna wanna eat. You aren't packing too much, better to be over prepared than unprepared. Most hospitals only supply diapers, I'd take your own wipes, and baby clothes. At least mine didn't. The hospital charges for every package of diapers they give you, so take them all! I took my own baby clothes/pajamas etc, as they only normally provide the little shirts, no bottoms or socks.

I definitely recommend Depends.. it sounds weird but they are so much more comfortable than the mesh underwear and giant pads. I know lots of women do that instead. ☺️ so I am glad that you got some of those too! This time around I plan to bring Depends to the hospital with me.

Another thing.. I 100% recommend writing your last minute list and putting it on the door so Anthony can help grab the stuff. ☺️ We brought our own pillows and blankets. It was more for my husband than myself though.

If you love a certain baby blanket from Target I would suggest buying multiple. From the time I started my registry at 20 weeks to when I delivered, the blanket I picked for my son was discontinued. Luckily we recieved 2 extra because he is 3 now and still sleeps with it.

You could always bring a pillow and blanket and then leave it in the car. We did that with a few things so that we had them close if needed, but didn’t bring them in from the car unless we decided we needed them!

It’s so interesting to see what other first time mommies bring! Sadly I didn’t use anything from my labor bag. My birth was very traumatic on my body and I couldn’t even walk for the first 48hrs. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days. I hope you are able to be more comfortable and use your labor bag and be in your own clothes. I didn’t change from the hospital robes until the day I left.😫 god bless mama, hope you have a smooth and safe labor!!❤️❤️

One tip I would give would be to wear contacts during labour if you can! I ended up having an emergency cesarean and was wearing glasses during labour, but I had to take them off for the surgery. I was in the midst of contractions and getting prepped so wasn’t able to put contacts on! When my son was born they took him quickly to the paediatrician for a check and I could barely see what was happening 😩 xx

Blanket yes for sure! I didn't do a pillow but my warm fuzzy snuggly blanket was seriously so comforting.

I just gave birth, I opened my bag once for PJs & body wash and baby go home outfit. I was there for 24hrs after birth, hopefully if all goes well you’ll only need to be there for a day too 🙏🏽🧿

I “overpacked” in September when I had my son, BUT I’d do it over again the same way just in case. I had sudden complications during labor so I couldn’t even move nor didI care what I was wearing. As gross and uncomfortable they say hospital stuff is, I did not care to use my stuff because I was so tired. I didn’t use any of my baby stuff besides outfit he went home in. They stay swaddled so much the extra baby gear went unused. It’s good you packed as much as you did but don’t be surprised if you don’t use 90% of it. Good luck, you got this mama!!

Your pregnancy glow is UNREAL! I'm so happy and excited for you to meet your baby boy and bring him home! I had my son in March (first baby too) and motherhood is the most hardworking but rewarding job there is! You are in my thoughts and prayers for a safe labor and delivery, god bless!💙💙

If you plan to circumcise (person choice and a private one) but make sure you have vaseline at home ready when you bring him home. Also, gripe water is good to have on hand for home. And, for you have pads ready at home. And don't feel bad everyone over packs for baby.

I wanted to shower so badly after I gave birth but I couldn't even stand without getting dizzy my nurse wouldn't let me until the next day. Felt so good the next day. And showered again at home. Feel so much better showering at home haha

I think you did great packing. Reminding me of what I wish I would have brought my first pregnancy. I am expecting baby number 2 and this is so much fun to watch. Definitely should do a post hospital video with what you did and didnt use. One thing I wish I would have brought for baby was regular onesies washed with dreft, my son had a reaction to the bleach and detergent they use at the hospital. Btw,love megs accent "pajAHmas" 😊

You should try Tommy John for super comfy loungewear. They have their own fabric blend so it’s different than anything else I’m OBSESSED with their joggers and shorts.

Never apologize for the way you look, you are always stunning whether in sweats, no makeup or glammed up! Also, I fully overpacked for my son’s hospital bag (also my first) and I don’t regret it at all! Cannot wait for Baby Morrison to arrive 🤍🤍

What I wish I would of brought that no one mentioned was Blankets ! Cozy/Fluffy For you & baby ! The bassinet in the hospital is super uncomfortable n hard for baby so maybe like a snuggle me organic or lots of cozy/fluffy blankets As well for yourself & for hubby because those hospital beds & little couch beds for hubby are NOT comfortable ! Me & my husband got stuck at the hospital for 6 days 😩 so bring as much as you want! The whole house even lol anything to make you as comfortable as possible

I don’t think you have overpacked at all, I feel like I had the same amount in my bags when I had my daughter. A lot of it wasn’t used but it’s better to be safe! So excited for you Meg, your bump is beautiful. Hopefully baby boy arrives soon ❤️

I don't know where you are delivering but I also live in South Jersey and delivered at Virtua in Voorhees. The towels they supply you with ARE small. Also they supply you with unlimited pads (large and small) disposable underwear and witch-hazel pads and also gave me some to take home. The bathrooms were very nice in my opinion, the hospital itself was very nice and clean. Congrats!
