Your pillow!! Even if you buy a sham to use and throw or even the cheap $5 target pillows to toss after. The hospital pillows are flatter than pancakes. Having a decent pillow makes a world of a difference and can add some nice back or elbow support when sitting up the the hospital bed with baby.

100% recommend you take you're own pillow (unless you sleep fine on hospital pillows). I didn't take my own with my first baby, I ended up being in for 4 days, and I had the worst neck pain. Took my pillow for my second baby and slept sooooo much better!

I am bringing a towel and I did the first time too! I’m so glad I did because the hospital towels are like gym towels. They are tiny and not soft at all. I used my towel for my body and the hospital towel for my hair. I also brought a wash cloth. I am also bringing my own pillow with a silk pillowcase and I did last time too. It’s just so nice to have a little extra comfort from home with me.

I always say pack whatever makes you feel comfortable! I think you’ve done a great job. 1 thing I’ve learned with my kiddos is that if you put aquaphor on their booties before that first poop it’s a lot easier to wipe off. Seriously so excited for you guys!

If you plan on getting him circumcised do it early on in your hospital stay, it can look a little scary and the nurses can ease your anxiety with cleaning it, etc. might be a good idea to pick up gauze pads and Vaseline too if you do plan on doing it.

I would bring a pillow, even a throwaway one, if you can. The hospital beds are so uncomfortable and my pillow was a lifesaver. The hospital pillows are so thin and barely give any comfort. My husband thought a pillow would be too much to bring and even he said how good it was that we brought them. My epidural failed and so I had to have a natural birth, so any little comfort for such an unexpected surprise was also so helpful.

I know this is late but for anyone seeing this and about to give birth, I would recommend bringing your own pillow. Even if you buy a cheap one and dispose of it after, from my experience, at the hospital I gave birth in, the pillows were SO thin I literally needed 4 for it to feel like a “normal” pillow which still wasn’t even comfortable, if you like them thicker that is.

But hospitals in London do not provide diapers and items for baby bed sleep time. My hospital did not have a special baby pillow and did not allow to take a blanket as well.

I had my son in April after having my first five years ago, and I was disappointed in the lack of supplies the hospital had this time around. I think due to shortages and shipping problems they didn’t refill my pads and postpartum and diapers and stuff before I went home. I had a postpartum care kit and when I used it up that was it. I came home with like four postpartum pads one pair of the mesh underwear and like three diapers. With my daughter they refilled my stuff before I went home and I had so much free stuff. I’m sure it depends on the hospital but I just found that happened for me this time around.

Maybe I am just old school, but both my kids slept in those sweet pea outfits. You just lift, change the diaper and lower it back down. They even have it where it closes at the bottom, so their feet stay warm, but I kept socks on my babies. I have also seen really good reviews on those blankets that keep them almost in a cocoon. My youngest is 14 so we didn't have those then.

You did a good job! I will add a caveat. I've given birth 3 times. The first two times were amazing and the hospital provided EVERYTHING plus some. So this time I packed for that. We moved to a different state and the hospital here did NOT provide stuff. The pads this one had were great in the birthing unit but for some reason they didn't carry the same ones in the recovery room and they sucked. Even layering one forward and backwards wasn't cutting it. They were extremely limiting on what they provided. Mesh undies they could only provide a few of. My son had to be supplemented due to blood sugar and they weren't wanting to give us 1 to go home with. I told them we had none and just needed one so we could get to a store and get them. I'm not sure if it was a combination of post spicy sickness and the huge formula issue but I was shocked lol. Needless to say if it's been a while or you're using a new hospital check to see what they provide. Also 10/10 my own pillow and small blanket after birth was AMAZING.

Hi, I think you over packed. I had my son 4 months ago and I did too! I don't think you need all of the underwear. I didn't take my pillow or towels either. I didn't want any hospital germs and certainly didn't want to bring wet towels home. I love following along!

I used everything that the hospital gave me! EXCEPT the two things you said you weren’t bringing 😂 I loooved having my own pillow! Just buy a different pillowcase. It’s so comfy & made me feel a little more ‘at home’. I also had a c section though, so I was immobile 99 percent of the time haha. Also having a towel that was my own was amazing because the ones the hospital gave me were reallly small 😅 So excited for you! I just started following & you’re my favorite influencer!❣️

This was so cute … and informative… but the pillow thing … I’m grossed out by using anybody’s hospital air bnb or hotels pillows and towels … I bring my own pillow and I bring a pillow case for me and pillow cases for my kids … we also bring our own towels everywhere… that way when I get home I can wash the pillow pillow cases and towels …. That’s the way to go for me … but great content 😊

I never understood women feeling like they need to defend themselves to pack their bag early. I understand if you're less than 20 weeks, yeah that's early but no one is guaranteed to reach 40 weeks. Having everything packed early is so smart.

Those Frida mom pads are nice! BUT, IMO save them all for at home. You can just use the diaper ice packs that nurses can make you 👍🏻
