Cool idea using stuff sack/dry bags. Going to have to give that a shot. High Buck Alpine hunt in a little over a month for me. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm not so sure that I have ever weighed my pack....another mystery...but you guys have me wondering now. I feel like Im pretty light as it is, but we will see. Good hunting guys. Thanks again.

Kody thanks so much for literally everything and I’m loving the podcast released Here’s my questions What game bags are you using? What and where did you get that dry bag insert? Thanks and you see this sooner than later

May have missed it but what about your optics, tripod, first aid kits, "possibles pouch" etc?

Lots of people don't take optics on archery hunts, particularly where they hunt in Oregon where you are luck to be able to see 20 yards.

Probably has a vest or pouch additional. I’d say about a 50 pound setup all in all.

forgot the weight of the bow strapped to the back. Also with water carrying in likely 3 to 6 liters, you're going to be in the low 40lb range right?

Thanks for sharing Kody, to see sub 30 lbs from so many of you its become my new target, but as a newbie to the west I haven't been able to get my head around the bivy style yet. Have you ever encountered issues with rain, insects, etc, or have any factors that make you bring a tent like looking at the weather forecast close to leaving time? I'm in a dry place (Utah) and have been to Arizona, but during aug/sept that is what I hear is the highest likelihood of the monsoon rains plus high elevation has a mind of its own. So does where you go ever change that sleeping set up? Thanks!

Being from Texas I had the same concerns. But I've found that the insects & bugs get scarce the higher I go and the colder it gets. Main thing I worry about is making sure I set up in a "DRY" spot that doesn't get washed away when a late night storm rolls in.

TARP AND BIVY, that is the ultimate combo rule of 3, something to sleep IN, ON, and UNDER. tarp, bivy, sleeping pad. It's not comfy it is roughing it
