Just to let you know, if you are planning on breastfeeding the peppermint tea can affect your milk supply, maybe try fennel tea 😀

My must haves that you've already got were the arnica, fan and huge pants. A must have I'd recommend is having a pillow in the car - if you do have a section the lap belt part of the seat belt is really painful, but not nearly as bad if you put a pillow there. I'd also take an additional flannel for while you're in labour - that can be wet and put on your forhead to help keep you cool. Also a squeezable water bottle, as apparently weeing when you have stitches in your foof is excruciating (had a section so don't actually know) so you can accurately squirt water to dilute your piddle and cause less sting. I did my hubby a little goody bag with stuff for him ie. Coffee machine fund, magazine, own eye mask/ear plugs if he needs a snooze, sweets etc. X

Great video Nikki your very organised. My tip to pack would be to pack a black bath towel (bought my one from Asda) yes you are right, its very messy after a natural birth and the black will help. Also, if you can pack a spare t-shirt, pants and few toiletries for Chris. My husband and I had to stay in for ten days and it took the pressure off him needing to go home and leave us on say day one or two. I felt more comfortable him leaving us as we were abit more settled :) x x x

You’ve done so well getting as far as you have- I managed 30 weeks with my twins. Your sleep mask and ear plugs made me laugh 😊 you will be zonked and will probably fall asleep no problem 😉 altho I agree the lights can be annoying xx

The Settlers Windeze gel caps were my absolute life saver 😉 Next baby grows and vest in ‘tiny baby’ we’re what my husband had to go and fetch as the ones we took were wayyyyyy too big 😒 I loved the next ones as they had scratch mitts built in. She just wouldn’t keep separate mitts on xx

Ahh Nicki isn't it getting close and exciting now. I can just picture you in the glider holding the boys 😍😍. I'm sure you have everything. My friend was happy with the bag I made up for her. People told me not to take a lot in for Harry,I took 5 sleepsuits in and he was sick and the other and Gary had to bring more in 😳so you just have to be prepared I suppose. Love the boys room. Xx

I’ve had 3 c-sections and I’d highly recommend taking an extra pillow or two just in case. Hospital pillows are rubbish and you won’t be able to lie flat after a section, plus you can hold it against your scar on the car journey home to support it xx

I’ve had 3 babies, there now 12, 9 and 5. I still watch these videos 😂🤦🏼♀️ I’ve recently just watched Anna saccone jolly’s what’s in my hospital bag video, she’s using the Tena lady pants that you throw away for bleeding! To start with and I thought that was a really good idea and wished I’d of thought of them! And the extra padding will be wanted to xx 😘

If you have a natural birth, a few drops of lavender oil on your pads are a good idea too...quite soothing! I’d also recommend adding some to a jug of water for when you go to the loo as peeing can be nippy in the first few days! All the best! X

The thin ones are great when the initial heaviness eases. The big ones are nice & padded though which is quite comfy when you’re a bit “delicate” down there x
@lizziemcnicol13256 жыл бұрын
So the big pads! I had to use during labour. My waters broke at home before contractions etc and every time I moved I was literally leaking SO MUCH WATER. Which is fine when you’re there and have a puppy pad thing under you but for that car ride and finding our room blah blah No one told me about this! I thought water breaking would just be one thing break whoosh gone.. nope the whole 15 hours just felt like I was peeing 😂 went through so many of them pads! Xxxx
@mrsc29356 жыл бұрын
You may need to take another packet of the big pads you bleed rather heavily after labour :( last for a good few days too!!
@naziabegum18366 жыл бұрын
I would also say get some big nightie trousers cos when you bleed I wore my trousers and some other women didn't and they were leaking thru there knickers onto the nightie and bed gross!

Also, energy drinks could be a good idea for labour (I had Lucozade!) to boost your energy! I know they're full of sugar and syns 😂 but well worth it!! Xx

Don’t bother with the thin ones you will need the thicker pads for sure. Flip flops are a fab idea, I nearly fell in the shower when I had given birth. Omg big pants where life after giving birth oh my god literally amazing!! Are you going to the John Radcliffe ? Xx

Hi Nikki! This isn’t a pregnancy related question but I would love a little advice? I’m desperate to join Slimming World but I’m just a bit worried as I’m only 20 and don’t really have much to lose...I don’t think I’ve ever been at a ‘happy weight’, where I’ve felt and looked how I’d like. How do I go about choosing a goal weight to work towards? Thanks a lot and you’re GLOWING in this video✨xxx

Here’s a giggle in regards to disposable pants - I got these for when I had my daughter nearly 7 years ago and I did the whole leg shave/bikini line situation the day before I got induced. I had her a day after I got induced, so 2 days on from the big shave. By the time I was needing my disposable pants, I had the prickly regrowth and all I shall say is the velcro effect! They were swiftly binned and the big pants were used! Way to overshare on the internet haha!

Sorry for TMI but I had a catheter fitted as I had an epidural then required a c section. Anyway after it was removed I struggled to pee. They were going to recatheterise me to empty my bladder however I drank some fizzy pop which made me go and normal service resumed. Maybe pack a can 😂 nobody needs that doing twice. Looking forward to the updates to come 💙💙

If you have a home bargains near you pop in and grab the towel sized baby wipes, you get two in a packet, they’re huge and they were a life saver for me. It can be a while until you get to go in the shower after you’ve given birth, so the midwifes very kindly cleaned me up with one of the wipes shortly after I’d delivered and I felt so much better compared to my first delivery where I had to wait a couple of hours to shower! & if you end up having a c section I bet they would be the best ‘substitute’ to a shower if you’re unable to shower straight away either xxx

34 weeks~ where the heck did those weeks go crikey! With the gassy wind the trapped wind was HORRIFIC for me and I had a natural with a shit load of gas and air honestly drink some as soon after if you can, peppermint capuals are also fab as are extra strong mints, your bag is fab you’ve got everything you could ever need, so exciting I bet the excitement and nerves are kicking in now aren’t they hehe x

The best maternity pads are from Mothercare I think they £4.99 a pack I've used boots and the cheaper Mothercare ones trust me buy the £5 pack they are well worth it. I had my baby 6 months ago and I found them great. I had Lucozade when I was in labour just to give me a little energy as midwife said it's fine in labour I also took magazines in, and mints as the gas and air dries your mouth. My last birth I picked home birth 😊 x

Exciting! Good luck lovely. Recommend witch hazel to put on your ‘pads’ after though to be fair that could probably wait until you get home. It’s very cooling and helps with the pain, especially if you have episiotomy stitches xx

I took arnica like it was going out of fashion after my 2nd csection, recovery was a breeze 2nd time around. Peppermint oil capsules helped me so much with the trapped wind, the shoulder pains were horrific! Also, incase you need a section i'd recommend a soap free shower gel like sanex 0% because it's less irritating on the incision and doesn't sting/burn. Made the mistake with my 1st section of using regular shower gel. Also as hard as it is, try and stand up as soon as they offer to help you, moving around helps so much with recovery and stops everything stiffening. Good luck with everything. You'll do amazing! 💙💙 xxx

Hey Nikki, loving all these updates! You're so organised. Completely off topic, but if you're thinking of breastfeeding I'd really recommend investing in an electric breast pump, I had a Medela one and it was fab and really helped my milk come in after I lost a lot of blood at birth ☺ just an idea xx
