Dude, you are one of the most transparent and honest DJ producers on the market at the moment, your phrase says that one of your best songs was made on a laptop and with a headphone it is enough to say that you are awesome in every way, keep being like this!

Your end message is everything...especially to me. I'm 47 and have been an EDM fan forever. In my early 20s I had a Korg X2 and composed music for fun, just within the limits of that keyboard alone. Some EDM, some symphonic stuff (which I actually have uploaded to this channel), some Yanni/Kitaro ambient stuff, etc. Just having fun. Never had the drive to go farther than recreational playing, despite many friends/fam saying I should have done more with it. Fast forward to now and suddenly I have this wild fire up my ass to actually produce something I literally dreamt of after EDC Orlando, legit inspired by your set Saturday night (and the shrooms I was enjoying). Now I'm diving in, with just my home PC and gamer headphones. Nothing fancy. Steep learning curve for sure, but I've not been this excited about making music in over 25 years. So here's to having nothing but a computer and a brain, and a passion to see if I can produce a track that people will enjoy before I'm 50. That's my goal...a one hit wonder is fine by me...just for the love of the music and the smiles I want to bring people. So again...thank you James for that very important point at the end. It means more than you know.

Another thing I would like to remind anyone interested: It takes zero effort to notice that this video was shot rather poorly, but we all watched it to the end because the content is authentic and well-thought-out. This should come as a lesson to anyone still hesitating to make and upload their first KZbin video.

If you take the time to get comfortable with an analog synth monster ($3000+) an analog filter + maybe a distressor/ delay. aswell... You will create sounds from your true essence more so than a synth on a screen. Thats if you havnt already before mostly using ITB synths like you said early in video

The TD-3 is easy to program with the synth tool, so i suspect the 909 clone is the same.. but the Ableton 909 set is pretty close and no latency. I got a TR-8 and its easy to sync it with Serato. TR-8s supposed to be marginally harder to use, but if all you want is to kick drum everything in a mix/redrum, then I'm sure it's fine. Just program some basic patterns with synth tool on the RD-9 and sync to Serato with midi and you can technofy unexpected stuff.
