4:40 - Its fairly common that stuff like this is oiled before storage/shipping to protect them from corrosion and whatnot. Mass produced parts that you dont know how long they will sit in storage tends to be extra caked on.

This is an older video now, and I'm not totally sure you have the same sort of EDC philosophy I've got (I've got some medical issues that limit what I carry and how far), but y'know, I respect what you're doing here. And more that you're doing it on a budget. So many people spend ridiculous amounts on titanium this and hand-machined bugie hipster crap like that. I can't drive and I can't carry much, so everything I've got has to be useful/necessary and it does have to be lightweight, when and where that makes sense. I spent a lot on my SAK and my flashlight because they're the smallest and lightest things that do more for me than something cheaper and larger could if I could afford them. But my pocket pen is $4 (Zebra F-301 Compact), my minimalist wallet thingy was $10, my whistle is plastic and LOUD. Pliers I do not need, but a card-sized battery that does 45% of my phone's battery pretty fast? Yes. That kind of thing.

I need a bag like that. I try to carry everything. My wife and kids got me that pocket tool for Father’s Day.

Great video. The oil is to prevent rust. I have to wipe down all my knives & tools straight out the mail.

I'm a bit odd. I carry a LL Bean bookbag. The content is in the small compartments. The main is for hauling. I carry a leather belt holster for a multi tool, flashlight and pen. I change often with a leatherman and Gerber. My pen is a welldo brass bolt action. And my light is the EDC-01. I tried the archer mini but don't like tailstock switches. The main thing I carry is a canku c1149 and a very cheap box cutter. Hey! I like your style.

Aussie here, great content. Subscribed. And I'm sorry for your loss man. I've been reading a lot about quantum mechanics and spacetime recently, and I find this helpful when thinking about those we've lost. Because the thing about spacetime is that time never ends, and never begins. It just is, and always will be. So the moments you cherished with your love, those moments still exist as real as they were on the day, right now, they never went away. Picture it like this - you're out on a raft, floating on the ocean, and you're between these huge waves as big as skyscrapers. As you move through life, you're travelling up and down, across those waves. That's the passage of time. And those moments you cherished with your love are still there - just behind the peak of the last wave you crossed, as real and as present as they ever were. Right now your conscious is just crossing a different part of spacetime... but maybe one day, after we die, we'll get to leave the grip of spacetime and have our souls meet those we love again, outside the constraints of time and space. Religious people may call that heaven, others may call it something else, but whatever your beliefs I think we can all acknowledge that the universe is a vast, wonderful place, and we can't even begin to comprehend its entirety and what it has in store for us. I have pocketbooks but I put them on the back of my wheelchait and I like them. Pockets wear round your neck. Cause I like to keep everything in front of me so when I go out. I have easy access to it.

Tomtoc, Alpaka and Peak Design make some really nice EDC bags but definitely a little more expensive. Dope vid

So cool you made this video. I feel a lot of the guys making EDC videos are showing super expensive things like 200 dollar knives and $90 wallets. Like let's be honest what blue collar dude has that kind of money. My EDC is a sling from temu, gerber knife, vans wallet l, Skullcandy earbuds. So it's cool that u have a realistic budget video
