Gotta admit, while I like the Amex Gold Card 4X on Dining and Groceries, I am really starting to hate the stupid $10 a month credit too.

Yeah it's annoying but I can use both fairly easy every month cuz usually on my day off running around anyway. So I just order something from pickup on my way out to go pick it up like a couple coffees or whatever. It's annoying. Don't get me wrong but I'm finding relatively easy. Especially if you go out like once a week or whatever pick up coffee or two and you're good to go. Even like a Subway sandwich or something. Maybe I don't know. You can make it work. It's just annoying that you have to at all

@@Brianpeckin Yeah it's not really hard to get the credit. It's more of just going through the mental exercise of remembering it's there, along with all the other things I have to remember with the Amex Plat and other cards. It's a 1st world credit card gamer problem for sure haha.

Yeah I don't blame you about taking out the amex gold card for the moment because I also don't see the point of the two perks of credits they give us. I only take advantage of the Uber credits but I still like the card just because when I travel the 4x on eating out is nice compared to other cards. I personally love the card just because of the multipliers but if they are raising the membership price, I hope they add some better credit offer or I may have to look into something else.

Yeah I figured that I would try something different for now and then re-evaluate if/when there's changes made to the card. Hopefully Amex adds better and easy to use credits if they're going to think about raising the annual fee, but I doubt they will honestly haha

I like the amex gold as a AU cuz I can easily use the monthly credits. My CFF is for dining since i maxed it out at 7x I will be switching over to my ccc or my CSP for dining, my CF is my gas next quarter and my catch all card is my CFU or active cash. Congratulations

Im new to expanding on rewards and credit card benefits. I have several cards and mostly started w them to do 0% bal transfers. I coincidentally had Citi Premier (new Strata Premier), and a Citi Diamond, which I now upgraded to Citi Rewards. I just now got Citi Aadvantage Platinum because I do use AA frequently. I'd like to create a trifecta. Can I do something w those 3 cards or should I upgrade/change to new ones? I also have a business but have thought of applying for AMEX Business Platinum. I have not applied so still can do a quadfecta if possible. What are your suggestions to use which for what?

Ok the biggest question I can’t seem to find a good answer to is this: with a two player system with myself and my spouse, is it better to refer each other to cards one of us has to double up on each card or to have each of us have different cards? I started with the Chase Sapphire Preferred and then got the Freedom unlimited and she just got the Chase Freedom Flex. Should we next refer each other to this cards and get SUBs and referral bonuses but have duplicate of two cards with obviously the same multipliers or should we continue getting different cards to more quickly cover all our categories and get cards from different banks like AMEX, CapitalOne, Citi?

I mean I love transferring to Hyatt and they still have that as a big advantage of their program! So to me Chase is always going to be a part of my setup while they have Hyatt. The other issuers have better spending multipliers than Chase though so I use Citi and Amex as well quite a bit

I have a business and make about $50,000 a month in purchases on credit cards. I have been doing cash back with my credit union and averaging about 1.5% annually. However, I want to step it up and grab some travel credits. Our favorite thing to do is travel and we love Europe so we want to get those business and first class seats. Yeah I'm not a fan of the credit game with the Amex cards. I can put up with it on the Amex Platinum because the numbers still work for me and at least I'm getting to use the Amex lounges. But the Gold card is not what it used to be thanks to the fact that there's so many other good options now!

I wish I had friends/girlfriend so I can actually go on vacation without just being alone and depressed the whole time. If that were the case I’d be team travel instead of team cashback. Unfortunately that will never change as I am doomed to be alone. Almost 30 and still never had a friend or a girlfriend in my life. Every time I tried it always failed horrifically so I no longer bother trying. At this point I just have too much resentment to even go into any form of a relationship in a healthy way. Not to mention, the chronic pain I have from an injury I received from over 1.5 years ago would physically prevent me from doing anything I want to do on a vacation anyways. Instead I need cashback to pay off speeding tickets and endless medical bills that max out my insurance every year due to doctors failing to find out how to get rid of my pain. It’s like the universe or God himself wants me to snap.
