When I was a kid I had a Furby that I left in my closet after I got bored with it. Fast forward to 6 months later when the thing, having sat dormant for months, suddenly came to life and started making demonic noises and grinding gears. When I dug it out, I couldn't get it to shut off, and when I opened the battery case to pull them out, both batteries had exploded and leaked acid everywhere. On that day, I decided that all Furbies must die for the security of the human race, and so I watched gleefully as you sent these two demon spirits back to hell.

omg the same thing happened to me. I had 4 furby's (a grey, black, white, and tiger stripe), and all of them sat in my closet for like I don't know...20 years. Then one day I heard weird demonic groaning/growling in my closet and found the white one like seizuring, and making the most creepy noises ever. Like long drawn out moans and loud clicking, I literally screamed. I couldn't get mine to shut off either. It eventually stopped, so I just hid it. A week later the tiger stripe one ressurected, and I kept staring at my closet not really knowing it was another furby. I was freaked out. It made garbled noises, the other 2 just lay still so I just hid all of them. These things lay dormant for so long wtf. o_o I honestly don't even remember where they are right now. o_o

1:25/1:59 (I know that this came out about 5 years ago), but the old 1998/1999 Furby does actually work! Becuase they were kept in the box for such a long time (and not turned on), the gears can get a bit stuck from possible dust! To get it to work properly, you'll have to take the fur and shell off to manually turn one of the gears inside to get them moving! I have 11 of the 1998/1999 Furbys, and had to do this to 7 of them :) (Also $500??? That seller definitely scammed you/overpriced that Furby, cuz they're worth around $30-$80 depending on their condition and if they were a limited edition variant, [which that specific Furby was not]) Once again I know that this came out 5 years ago, but I just wanted to say that in case anyone else was curious about it
