May I suggest that you reap those extremely hot chilies and make them available to people who wish to have such an experience as to "eat" them. (Some cooks put the entire chili into a dish being cooked without breaking the skin.) I believe the heat comes neither from the main body of the fruit nor the seeds. It is the membrane within which contains the capsicum which makes for piquancy. Harvesting such peppers with rubber gloves and with face (or at least eye) protection seems sensible. Setting peppers on a tray avoiding stacking them could reduce chances for rot. With flow of DRY air across the chilies they might dry and remain usable indefinitely. Good luck with selling or otherwise distributing them (maybe profitably). __

First, I have not reaped such a crop myself. Looking for actual "boots on the ground" video I found that people who harvest the peppers do so by picking them off the plant by a stem, analagous to properly-picking cherries. Beyond that -- I am hopeless in the area of finding customers. My suggestions about setting the peppers on a tray reflects my experience with strawberries -- one having a bruise sets that one up for fermentation. Shrinking of the others will open pores to acquire what will become "gray hair" of molds or fungus. Piling strawberries together likely makes it easier for them to get moldy. The better-presented actual harvesting of Carolina Reapers also shows people who do not use face masks or eye protection (which could still be some of a problem?). I think it reasonable to find customers for such peppers. You likely did not spray your plant with pesticides, and any fertilizer you used can be identified. And in our present economy you might provide a product that is hard to find. Any customers you have you can talk to directly to assure or warn against problems they worry about. Good luck! Californean Reapers, you can sell. Believe me, some people like spicy food. If I was not in Europe, I'd buy some of you immediately. Nope they are not the hottest, but near the top still. The Scoville scale is updated ans there are a few that are not yet rated but are expected to be a bit higher up the scale still. Dragons Breath for example scores 2.480.000 which is 280.000 hotter as Californean Reaper. Komodo Dragon s is exactly the same spicyness as the Reaper, at between 1.400.000 and 2.200.000. Those reading this comment and like spicy food beware. Too much of these peppers require hospital ER services. As they are extremely hot. Do not touch with bare skin, because it will burn. (If you don't believe me, check out some videos about food thieves at work.)
