I just bought one of those USB wi-fi dongles for the garage computer (was a different brand though). Those are more useful than you would think. Especially when diagnosing internal wi-fi failures or just giving an old crap computer access to the network from an area with no wired access.

I don't think they are poorly made but did have a "crackling noise issue." I'm not sure if it could have been fixed by a software update or it was a hardware issue. Apple makes/sells _so many_ that you're bound to get lemons like any other product.

The bluetooth adapter is not a bust, it's a dongle for bluetooth support (it isn't a mouse dongle). Great if you have a desktop with no bluetooth support.
