I think it's because people's interest in beauty gurus has switched from "reviews/makeup tutorials" to "vlogs/sharing their lives/being active on social media with their subscribers." I adore her videos, and I like that she's a beauty guru from the 2008 days, but unfortunately I don't think that interests a lot of people anymore :/

As much as I enjoy the rare personal glimpses into Tara's life, I very much appreciate her keeping it about the passion of makeup. I do enjoy several OG beauty vloggers who now share more intimate aspects of their lives, typically via a separate channel. That said, I'm finding it more difficult to find similar channels like Tara's - when I'm in the mood just to hear about and see cosmetic products👍 Just another reason I am enamoured with Tara's channel - oh and the cameo appearances of her 🐹 ✌💜

I have a small makeup collection and hitting pan or using up a certain product makes me so happy! That way I know I've invested my money good.. If I had a backup drawer it would freak me out! Having all that makeup I wouldn't be able to spend. Still, enjoyed watching as always ♥

Sharon Sears Powder products actually don't expire easily like I know eyeshadows have a months span but really they don't expire as easily only gels and liquids expire more easily but powders last a very long time probably until you run out of them especially eyeshadows

Sharon Sears As Daemon said- I am most concerned about liquid products especially around the eyes. Any products you continually insert back into a closed humid container. I would also be somewhat concerned with products that are wet dry that you use wet regularly.

The biggest killers of makeup is bacteria, which is why she wouldn't swatch even the powder stuff. It eats at the products and also produces waste on them. Think about rotation of makeup in the drugstore, it's in there for long periods of time before it's purchased. So her not exposing her cream products and powder products to as much bacteria will dramatically increase the life of product.

I missed out on Chanel de plume and regret it to this day. I hope they bring it back at some point. I've found Tom Ford's Sahara Haze and Lavender Lust at a Cosmetics Company Store in PA the other day. Great for a back-up since they are no longer available at regular stores. Bonus was they were only $56 each. If you want back-ups I will get them for you the next time I go there.

This is a great video. Do you think you'll ever finish the highlighters and eyeshadow palettes and need to shop your stash. The companies come up with new beautiful products all the time so it would have been interesting to hear if you expect to hit pan on the products to which you have bought backups for. For those items you are using up on more frequently, it would have been interesting to know for how long time you have the backups for.

I wish I had a back up of Camelia de Plumes!! It is my all time favorite highlighter and my compact is broken. The clasp doesn't snap closed if you know what I mean so I have to be super careful with it. You are soooo lucky!

the elf color correcting is great! It is the first product I ever hit pan on.... sometime I cake it on a bit too much (oil girls can be a little bit heavy handed w the oil... just in case) but they never look horrendous! love love love

It seems to me that Kat Von D did more with the artwork on her older palettes. Spellbinding and the Monarch palettes seem to be the last ones she really did something special for. Since those the designs for her packages have been a lot more simplistic with the exception of Mi Vida Loca Remix.
