In this video, I used 3D animation to show what's inside one World Trade Center building of the United States. I will work to make more videos in the future in my free time. I hope you support my content.

Yeah, you can see their primary goal with this new tower was to make the stairways protected and separated from one another to maximize the likelihood you can take the stairs to get out, even if a commercial jet flies into it.

@@BlackChad792 A concrete core that thick would be effectively impenetrable to aircraft. High strength concrete combined with heavy reinforcement would shield most of the core from any impact damage. The original WTC had an open core with only steel beams. The walls were only Sheetrock, like you would find in most houses.

I love the design of the building. It kind of pays homage to the two towers but starting off as four side at the bottom (which I’m sure serves a structural purpose), and then twists up into 8 sides towards the top. Such a gorgeous design ❤️

The biggest point against 1WTC is not making the roof height 1,776 feet then having the antenna bring it up to 1,973 feet which is the year the Twin Towers were completed. Having the antenna count toward the full height is such a cop out. The Antenna isn’t even covered in the planned spire to make it look less naked. Since we aren’t getting Twins again, we should’ve at least made 1WTC bigger by roof height than the Twin Towers.
@scratchpad7954
@scratchpad7954 8 ай бұрын
In a big way, I agree with that sentiment. They could have made the roof height 1,776 feet and used a 225-foot antenna spire to raise the total height to 2,001 feet to symbolize the year the old towers fell, but I feel that would be very insensitive to the families who lost loved ones and friends that day. But I agree that counting the spire toward the total height of a building is cheating as opposed to counting to the roof or the highest occupied floor.
@mikefialko2979
@mikefialko2979 8 ай бұрын
I agree. To say a building is 1,776 feet tall when almost the top 400 feet are an antenna is not accurate. The height of a building should be measured from the ground level to the top of the roof.Antenna and spires should not count.
@wll1500
@wll1500 6 ай бұрын
Agreed, but there's no market for office space anymore. They struggle to find tenants, which is why WTC 2 hasn't been started and may never be. I think they only made One WTC as big as they did for symbolic purposes. A smaller building would have actually been more practical.
@scratchpad7954

@@wll1500Indeed. The pandemic caused a paradigm shift in the way business is conducted. The news full of stories now of people revolting against the companies for which they work for forcing them back to the office after they got so used to working from home. While COVID-19 is continuing its long slog into the endemic phase, it is anything but through with us, and even the most careful people are still paranoid about getting it despite being fully vaccinated and still wearing their masks in public. Personally, I think it’s difficult to consider the past towers a mistake in some way. Aircraft the size of a 757/767 simply did not exist back when these things were built, and even if they did, the concrete technology to make cores as strong as they are now, similarly didn’t exist. Even putting that to the side, a terrorist attack really wasn’t something designed for; 9/11 was quite unprecedented. The pre-9/11 world and post 9/11 world, for better or worse, is a vastly different place. The unprecedented nature of these attacks is specifically why the legacy of said attacks is so far-reaching into our everyday lives. The TSA, for example, came into being specifically as a 9/11 security shakeup.

You can see some of the features of "learning" from the old WTC design. There seems to be three stairwells instead of two, and two of them are further separated so that it increases the chance that one of them is usable and they don't both get blocked. See timestamp 2:19

I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but, what makes the emergency/first responder steps special? I would’ve thought a staircase is a staircase, a fire/emergency exit is a fire/emergency exit. Thanks!

I would think that after 9/11 they wanted a dedicated stair case so that people aren't crowding it impeding responders from going up or down with emergency equipment.

In extinguishing fires In high rise buildings the FDNY stretches their hose lines off an outlet of the standpipe riser which is located in the enclosed stairwell of the floor below the fire floor. This necessitates that the door to the stairwell be kept open. Unfortunately, it also causes the entire stairwell above the fire floor to fill with heat and smoke. As a matter of procedure, they designate this as the attack stairway and the other stairway as the evacuation stairway. However, building occupants may ignore such direction. By having a dedicated stairway, the possibility of such a situation might be greatly reduced.
@uzaiyaro
@uzaiyaro 2 жыл бұрын
@@azul8811 ahh so it’s an exit with a dry riser in it? I dunno why I didn’t think of that, but that makes sense. But also makes sense as an attack point. I’ve seen dry risers inside cupboards as well. I used to do telecom installs in a former life (which is why I forgot), and sometimes the cable or power distribution cavities would be next to a dry riser cupboard, and of course, these are part of the building core, with the lift shafts and exits next door.
@azul8811
@azul8811 2 жыл бұрын
@@uzaiyaro Actually, I’d imagine that it’s not dry. New standpipe systems are typically “combination systems” in that they are tied in with the sprinkler system. IDK why they would necessarily be dry because freezing is not an issue inside a structure that is heated. You can tell if it’s a combination system by the yellow color of the Siamese on exterior of the building. Green Siamese for sprinkler, red Siamese for standpipe and yellow for combination. Unlike in some jurisdictions, the NYC Code requires that standpipe outlets are located in the enclosed stair rather than in the public hall. And again the FDNY stretches from the floor below the fire floor.

I think that every floor along with every other work area that has a employee should have a emergency personal first aid flashlight gas mask &water kit along with a emergency guidelines instructions to follow & to evacuate if needed also a grip gloves for a fire pole that firefighters have to slide down to reach the ground and instructions on how and where to go on the loud speaker that loops. Message until switched off and otjer safety measures if all fails and a plan C,D,E to evacuate with motion sensors for sensing nearby fire and other things that might slow a person down similar to the waze app gos spotting everything around u while driving before coming close to the object so people can be prepared and not panic but be smart

They should have made emergency shoots on alternating floors so every even floor would have an emergency shoot like a giant slide that would go down at a steep angle to the next even floor with bags at the bottom to absorb the speed so people could drop down each set of floors and continue down at a high rate of speed to the bottom through a maximum of 50 slides that would each take about 10 seconds to slide down get off and slide down the next one

Back then a typical hi jacking would involve the passengers staying calm and the hi jackers actually landing the plane. That's why the passengers stayed seated, if they had any clue im pretty sure they would've brought the plane down way before it reached New York. The passengers on flight 93 were aware of the hi jacked planes hitting WTC. They found out by phone conversation, so they reacted to the news.
@danc1197

Flight 93 was downed by the passengers because they were told about the planes hitting the world trade center when they called their spouses. Obviously the people on the ground are going to tell them what they can see on the news. So if a plane is hi jacked today everybody would know the intentions and immediately bring the plane down.
