Im so new to this I've only recently done a gel nail course but I'm addicted to your stuff I fall asleep like 1 am still watching with one eye open 🤣 I tried this today with neon sharpies and it worked was so pleased with my self 🤣 x

I have seen a couple of designs with spider gels so I decided to order some and just got them in yesterday. I love the way it came out on the black nail using pigment. I don't have any pigment but I do have lots of eyeshadow and I am going to try it tomorrow. Than you for sharing your talent and knowledge!

great video. why did you have to redo the non wipe nail over ? was that the only way the pigment would stick ? keep the videos coming , im fresh to the nail game.

Without wiping the nail before doing the spider gel, the pigments would stick to the tacky of the black, and you only want it sticking to the spider gel. Hope you're enjoying doing nails! Remember: whenever you wipe a tacky layer of gel, give it a light buff before doing anything on top, so whatever you are putting on top can grip to it.

It definitely would! Use a no-wipe top coat instead of spider gel...oh wait...it doesn't 'string' like spider gel. Hmm. Could use a fan brush with no-wipe top coat, and do a couple of strokes over the buffed nail, then cure and chrome. It might be a little harder to get rid of the chrome on the black though.

I’m thinking the chrome powder would stick pretty well to the spider gel but is it still sticky after it cures so you can burnish it in to get the shine?

I have a question Jo, my pigment stuck to the background color, I used a no wipe top coat, cured it, but it stuck anyway.

Are you using neon pigments or are they chrome/mermaid type pigments? The latter are made to stick to a no wipe top, so could be that. If not, you're best off wiping the colour layer, giving a buff, then adding the spider gel, cure, then add pigments like I did here.

Wipe and buff before adding the spider gel - you don't need to top the colour before this. Once you've added the pigments, tap off the excess and then dust before topping. If you're doing it on a white background, there is a chance it might show, whereas when topping black, it kind of blocks out any small pigment fragments.

Can you use this same method on a real nail? If so how do you clean it off the skin?

You can! Just make sure to wipe any spider strings from the skin before curing, with some cleanse solution/isopropyl alcohol.
