Enjoyed the deep dive. At 32k on my 2021 DDHC now and I feel like you really captured the appeal which is the attitude. It never fails to put a smile on your face and with nothing done/under warranty it’s an absolute performance bargain. Sure you can mod something cheaper to compete or even beat this but it’s a pulley and tune away from 10s. If you’re someone who really wants to push the platform the modded record is current 8.4 @ 165mph in the 1/4.

Joe someone needs to clearance the passenger side exhaust pipe, that’s what the grinding noise was on the hard launches. There is a small chassis brace that it’s hitting on the hard launches.

My dealer has a 2024 SRT Hellcat in the floor. I've bought from these folks for 20 years. I drive a 2018 Durango SRT. I'm tempted, since they "say" this is the last year they will be made. Thoughts?

I don't think "Performance Bargain" comes across the way you think it does. I hear "low quality with high HP". I would call Dodge/Ram HEMI vehicles "Performance Value" . The other 2 vehicles you mentioned are luxury and performance, that's why they cost more, the extra cost gives you a much nicer interior. I've owned 5 Dodge vehicles BTW.

Super cool car .... to rent. 14MPG being conservative on the gas pedal and single digits if you're driving it with any amount of aggressiveness ... filling up multiple times a week gets old fast. Add into it a 6-figure price tag for something with a rental car interior ... there's a reason these are now rotting on lots

To add a bit more context it’s nice and smooth in the softer suspension modes and gets firmer as you change the suspension setting. It’s completely firm in track mode and can be bumpy but in Auto/Street mode it’s very smooth.

Great video, Joe, wow, what a glorious beast! I was close to pulling the trigger on a Durango SRT Hellcat but changed direction a bit to something more sedate, a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve with the 5.7 Hemi. Admittedly, nowhere near the same level of performance, but it is a very nice driving SUV. Thanks for another in depth review, Joe, the best one I've seen yet!

As Leon said they only come with a red key. He likely didn’t have enough RPM but I don’t know what he had LC set to. 1700-1800 is best on mine (3psi of boost) but with more traction I’ve heard 2200rpm is the most potent launch rpm (holds 6psi).
