To the (many) comments mad about me saying I don't like loud exhaust: If you heard how loud it was in person, it would surprise you. The customer was very happy we changed it. It's perfect. The client was glad that I was in tune with his needs properly, and I have a stewardship to do the right thing for the client and build, especially if he doesn’t know exactly what to expect. If he came back after and said he did want it louder, we wouldn't hesitate to make those adjustments. Thanks for your feedback though!

Not gonna lie, I am a big Chevy guy myself, my current ride is a fairly mint 82 C20 Silverado, under 125k miles and everything works like a dream. Previous pickup to this was a 1972 C20 that was pretty rough but so much fun. I think a lot of us can agree a lot of the classic (60's-70's and some 80's) trucks and cars were all pretty nice and works of art especially when restored like this beauty. I always liked the look of the 70's Ford pickups myself.

Thank you someone else that couldn't stand PMR. They did all this work on a car or truck but then leave the busted work out powertrain in it. The add extra weight with all the sound system, gadgets and gizmos, added massive power draw on the alternator and put bigger rims and tires on for a tired transmission not to mention the extra weight from stereo system. They actually did another thing later on bof how's the ride doing and found that alot of those rides were broken down in a yard because they never did anything with the powertrain. Here in this video though it looks like they went from the ground up. the frame looks like it is powder coated, it's clean from top to bottom, sounds amazing and nothing looks out of place or rigged. I absolutely love that supercharger whine too. So yes I agree with you it's not done like PMR would do and just polish a turd sprinkle new stuff on it and say surprise.... we gave you an awesome lawn ornament, it won't go anywhere but it's got rimz and a system so you can chill at home and be the envy of every prepubescent boy in the surrounding trailer park area. Thanks xibit you gave me an expensive chair so I can sit and watch others drive while while I sit and pretend to drive dawg. Love the truck. Beautiful work. My dad had a '75 Ford, basic truck, 390ci with an oil bath filter, 4spd manual. I remember when we added power steering to it and ultimately when the power steering failed on Christmas day in the late 80's. I was driving the truck home and with each turn was adding more steering wheel turns until one left turn where the steering completely failed. It was like having a roulette wheel in front of me, the complete absence of steering. After getting the truck towed home, we began tearing down the steering and rebuilt the steering box. I remember trying to get the new bearings in the steering gear, installed them, got the truck together and went for a drive. After one right turn the truck would only turn left, would jam up going right. Got it back to the garage, tear down the steering again, had to re-install the bearings again in the recirculating ball and nut steering gear. Together again, road test again, this time it would jam up with left turns and would only turn right. So a series of right turns back to the garage to fix again. Third time got it right, installed the bearings, they stayed in place and the repair was good. The truck still exists and is used on a friends farm. Would love to bring it back and make it new again like this F150.

Thank you for the video! I have an older 89 F250 Custom model 2 wheel drive that I have over the years been dabbling with. I bought it 16 years ago after it's entire drivetrain was redone. Since then I've gone through it a couple times refreshing and changing little things for better performance. When I bought it, it was designed to haul a camper, with 16 1/2" rims and bias ply tires. I took it to 17" with all season radials. What a difference! With everything I had done over the years and gone around the USA 3 times working I really have enjoyed this truck. When I felt it needed a complete overhaul in March of 2021, I was still getting 19mpg on average with or without a load including through the mountains, (if I kept my foot out of it). Just normal driving and it could be a lot of fun! In September I was done with all the machining and new, new parts. Fired it up, warmed it up and sounded great! This was 10PM, so shut it off for the night to test drive the next day. Morning came and fired it up, let it warm up and went to back out of my Godfathers shop here in Washington.. He used to race so it was the perfect shop to rebuild it in. Like a switch was thrown it started thumping hard, jumped out and crawled underneath. Something in the area of the mains went. Backed it over by a tree, bought a plane ticket and went back to my ranch in Nevada. Turned out to be the oil pump torque on the bolts that came with it didn't hold. Never heard of bolts coming with the oil pump yet they did. The other odd thing was the pump housing holes were threaded, and hadn't seen that before! Bolts went right in and torqued to specs. In March of 22, I came back and pulled the engine, then took to a friends professional engine shop in Olympia WA and had it completely redone with a guarantee! The transmission I had done at another friends pro shop here in Olympia. Looking forward to many more years of enjoyment! Thank you for your video! I love to watch and see what others are doing with vehicles. This is my first time seeing your channel and not the last! All the best to you and your!

Without a customer there is no build, so yes give the owner what he is looking for. That's the challenge I'm sure for custom builders, understanding what the customer wants even when sometimes they are not exactly sure of what they want? Beautiful truck and results.

“ customer wanted the truck to be loud, but I didn’t want to put loud exhaust on it” if the customer wants it loud, give em what he wants. 🤷🏾♂️

Man what nice work. Perfect blend of old and and new. Love a long bed with the tool box in the side.

Absolutely beautiful!! My favorite trucks are the F-series 73-79 the 78-79 being my very favorite. The only vehicle I ever regretted getting rid of F-150 4X4 Ranger with the 6.6 400 cubic inch. Took that thing all over the mountains of Nevada! Never left me stranded! Always got me home from the middle of nowhere

The stock bench seat that I had in my 73 XLT was one of the most comfortable seats in my opinion. I would of never put the bucket seats in this truck, but to each his own! Nice truck! My 73 was a hand-me-down from my father. I pulled the stock 360 boat anchor out and installed a lumpy 390 with a Thunderbird 3x2 intake/Holly 2 barrel carbs. It was a fun truck to drive! If you were not into the outside carbs too much, you could actually get half decent mileage running just off of the center 2 barrel.

I had a 1976 F250 4x4 Trailer Special... Granny gear, I had to take off in second it was 4 on the floor but more like a 3 speed manual really.. I loved that truck!! It was my first car when I was 17.. I had it back in 1991.. It was lifted 4"s and had 33's BFGoodridges.. 390 with a Nasty set of headers and flowmaster exhaust out the back.. Wish I still had it... OH and I love the long bed's, always did.. I never understood buying a truck and not getting an 8 foot bed.. But to each his own..

Superb modification and retro build. It's probably really badass off road too.

Beautiful truck ! My favorite years of Ford trucks. The paint is great the lift & wheel /tire combo is great. Totally agree about obnoxious exhaust.

I'm putting together a nice square squarebody right now, don't boo me, but this was great to watch, it's over the top and original at the same time. I did have a real nice '79 F-150 short bed, pretty high up there, 38.5 Gateways on it, nothing special, had the straight 6 with the 4 speed but super clean, the nice deep Ford blue from back then, great trucks

I love what Fat Fender Garage does they have a really special team and company model which is, build elite attention to detail custom trucks while highlighting personality, character, not to mention some period correct mixed with classy innovation. I work down the street from these guys and I hope one day I have the pleasure and resources to leave a vehicle with them.
