The fan girl inside of me is jumping with joy. I wish there are more female pilots out there. I remember being one of the two women in the flight school about 13 years ago, the ratio was 2 in 15 and the only woman who applied for RCAF Pilot in my division that year. For my flight test I was assigned to one of the first female pilot examinors in Canada. After the exam she told me I landed better than my flight instructor when he did his flight test, and my instructor is a damn good pilot, it made me so happy.

I'm a trans woman so take this how you want, but I think piloting, be it helicopter, jet, no matter the role, is a great fit for women. Now, that isn't to say a woman can't hold her own in a ground fight, but that with some improvements to accommodate for women, naturally smaller frames are well suited to cramped cockpits. Women also make for the most badass pilots tbh

The story she told about the missile reminded me so much of one my grandfather told me once. He was a navigator in an RF-4C in Vietnam and he always talked about how important trust was between the pilot and navigator, especially when you're unarmed. He said the closest he ever came to dying was a situation just like she described, they were locked onto by a surface-air missile and he made a call to his pilot to break left and because he acted without any hesitation that's the only reason they survived

They don't fly at 3000 MP/H but I get your point. I can't believe the air force hasn't come up with something to solve this, wtf.
@DjDolHaus863 жыл бұрын
@@LTCTTM It's a lot more difficult than you might imagine, there isn't a lot of room in the cockpit for changes and the seat itself is a complex device rigorously designed to take the extreme stresses of flight and more importantly, ejection. Refitting the seats for a new model would cost billions in research, testing, manufacture and fitting so I'd assume that they're holding off until they absolutely have to in typical military fashion because of the relatively low percentage of female fighter pilots. They'll have acknowledged the problem and tried all the easy fixes they can think of but if none of them work then they'll just say "I'm sorry but you're just going to have to deal with it. (P.S Don't crash they plane, they're expensive)"

Swr bro Never even crossed my mind 😂
