Hi Leena! I like like to watch videos about Rhodes, and appreciate your videos. Last summer I and my dearest were there 2 times. First 2 weeks in Rhodes city in june, and then 1 week in Faliraki in august. After that I have followed the weather forecast during the winter. Fascinating that the sea temperature allows bathing even at winter(ok not really comfortable but still possible). The lowest air temperature I have read on the forecast was 8C at night, same as you mention in the video. But all weather reportings are from tourist places along the coast. And water has an leveling effect of air temperature so the difference between day and night is usually bigger a bit away from the coast. The island Rhodes is around 30km wide at the widest part. So 10-15 km from the coast I guess the temperature has been lower at night. I have been told that it has been around 0C and snow at wintertime on Rhodes and I guess it was a bit from the coast. What is the lowest temperature you have experienced on Rhodes? Best regards from northernmost Sweden.

The coldest temperature I have experienced here, was one morning in 2020 or 2021. We had wet snow in the ground, so it was close to 0°C. It melted away fast though. The inland is mainly mountains, and it gets cold up there. The locals have a tradition to go up on a cold winter day, and make a snowman on top of the roof of their cars, so they can show everyone how they found snow 😄 ⛄ I see some people here who like to swim all around the year.

We have a dehumidifier in our house. It's very useful here in winter. We don't pay for electricity, since we're off grid, but I go into this in detail in my previous video: How much does it cost to live in Greece.

Yes we have a lot of ticks here in the countryside with a lot of high grass. Tick season is in spring time and probably also in the fall.

Thanks! I didn't know this either, as in Dutch we use the word 'isolatie' for both insulation as well as isolation. Always good to read a comment that's actually helpful.
