I picked up a 2007 VFR800 last fall and absolutely love her. It took awhile to get used to the weight, and top heavy feel, but its so planted on the highway and handles like a lighter bike. With the mods done the fueling is smooth and lots of torque through all the gears. My only disappointment is that I'll never have another V4 like this again... sounds goood!

Had a 750 twice. I can only agree; VFR is the way to go. Did over 400 miles in 1 day. No problem. The looks. The sound. The ride. It just fits.

Bought my first bike about two months ago and it is an 06 VFR800. Big thanks to you and your multiple review videos on your bike that partially influenced my decision. I regularly commute with my VFR 60 miles or more per week day and it's so comfortable, easy to ride, and I love that V4 sound. Thank you for helping me decide on, what I think is, an awesome first bike!

@Nissan240vertguy
@Nissan240vertguy 5 жыл бұрын
@@jasonl5589 maybe it is a lot of bike for a begginer but I feel it's very manageable. I have rode a few bikes ,occasionally, back when I was younger, just never got around to buying one myself. I feel comfortable on it and when I ride I respect it's capabilities. Shoot I hardly ever full throttle it and hit VTEC. I just let the low end torque do the work haha. In the end I feel like the VFR is a decent first bike, maybe not the best, but it's not hard to get used and I love mine.

I sold my 07 25th anniversary edition and have regretted it ever since! I had delkevic exhaust, k&n filter and seargent seat. Honda makes great bikes, they do a lot of little things right you don't notice until you own other bikes. Wish i would have kept it. By the way mine topped at 160mph according to the speedometer and like you said it always felt planted to the pavement. Oh yeah, also not everyone has one and you rarely see another one on the street which was a huge appeal to me. Enjoyed the video!

Great Video, and as a VFR rider myself (97 RC 36/2 with Brembo Sinter pads, so no bad braking at all) the RC 36/2 and the RC46 are one of the best Streetbikes ever built. You get an perfectly balanced bike on which you can ride +250 miles to the track, do a track day and ride home without any flaws or sore back. And you get the greatest thing of them all... That SOUND!!

@AndreasBrOlesen 5 жыл бұрын
Matze Munz I also own a RC36/2. The brakes are just fine. When doing an emergency stop on the course (I am doing several riding courses/track days each season) , it will lift its rear wheel even with a pillion. The brakes do seem a little “mushy” compared to my Speed Triple, but I suspect it is the lack of braided brake lines.

Ride my vfr800 every year on the Dragon, however hard front brake in some of the tightest curves causes rear wheel to lift just enough to lock, causing unanticipated slide, real pucker moment. One who rides this bike as aggressive as I do, remove the link brake system. Was not that hard to modify, using steel braided lines, install rear brake master cylinder from cbr600 F4 and block anti-dive cylinder, completely changes character of bike, been riding mine with no issues for 16 years, never crashed, but fall over now and then when not moving!! It’s top heavy
@HeroRR
@HeroRR 4 жыл бұрын
It is very top heavy so I can see that, glad I have my big T Rex sliders they work great! Good info on the brakes, I don't actually ride my VFR too hard in the twisties so that's not a huge concern for me.. I have multiple bikes so the CBR and RC51 are more my "tackle the twisty" bikes. The VFR is my commuter and I actually really like the combine brakes they work really well and feel safe to me. But like you said you gotta be careful if you are going at 100% in the corners. Which I don't really do on the streets anyway. Ride safe!! :)

Last week I finished a 3 week trip from San Francisco to Bangor, Maine and back on a 2007 VFR. 7,197 miles. I had a small tank bag, a 'trunk' bag and matching (hard case) panniers attached. The one and only issue I had was the cross-wind in Ohio and again in Nevada. Cross-wind at 25mph blows the trees around and is brutal when it buffets the bike. You can throw out peace-of-mind. The wind will own your a** in short order when in 4th gear/4500rpm's.

My '16 VStrom650XA will remain as my explorer-tourer all day back roads camping, and I feel the VFR will be the perfect (for me) all-round the sport-tourer 'get there' moto faster trips on asphalt only. Not as big, heavy and more HP than I need like an FJR/C14 (rode a C10 for 14 years previous to Strom). Fun sunny day go for a rip; or pack up and go across the country.😎

Because of your History of the Honda VFR, I nearly bought a VFR 800. I didn't go ahead, because I found a low mileage 10kkm '04 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer, that is cheaper to run overall and also has the underseat exhaust going for it. Insurance f.ex. for the Honda would have been more than double the Yamaha. I love the FZ6 though - the engine is the same as in the Yamaha R6, only 20hp less powerful and it does "only" rev to 14k rpm, the frame and suspension are very much up to the task and it sure wouldn't feel completely out of place on the track.

I kind of feel sad that the VFR became a touring bike when back then it was arguably the best racer...it sucks because I now own a 1989 FZR400(R) JDM. I lose!

Rc36 does not break a lot, but you can change pads , then it's better, but remain less than current bikes.

Nice vid, if you like the KLR for road and dirt than try the Africa Twin, you’ll never back to a single again

I just sold mine, bought it 2 months ago. Best sounding bike i've owned, but it was just simply too top heavy for me. Other than that, excellent bike! Again, hands down, best sounding "affordable" bike.

It is a LOT of fun on a track day - but you do notice the weight for the last few sessions.

This bike has a lot of haters. I love it! Especially after my accident. It’s comfortable, reasonably fast, and beautiful. She get’s a lot of looks when I’m out.

Thanks for the info,thinking of getting one,trying to find a comparison between the 800 non v tech and the v tech.I had the last generation VFR 750,it was awesome.Did track days with it as well as plenty touring(South Africa).Have pics of track days with the pegs scraping as well as my knee down,and that was the 750.

Hahaha awesome! Honestly if you plan on bringing the bike to the track I would skip the VTEC model, the VTEC transition can be startling when you are going around a corner. Maybe if you can find a 06+ model, they supposedly fixed the VTEC on those.
