It’s amazing how much has changed. I’m in ys rn been here since august. We don’t stretch in front of guests lol we stretch in front of the edr. Even in the freezing cold. The cabins suck ass. Still have the mule carts but the bins don’t have lids they are broken and it sucks. We have to use shower curtains to cover our stuff when it rains. We don’t go to the conference room. We have the “meeting” outside during the stretches.

I worked in Old Faithful Inn in 2012 as a RA and then eventually as TL (team Leader/ inspector) and I also didn't like the stretching in front of Housekeeping office .Also visible to the guest. I loved my time in Yellowstone, still thinking about it.

Good job Lauren! I worked at Mammoth 1972-73 and Canyon 1974-76 and Mammoth again in 1988, the big fire season. The first year I was paid 1.60/hr, at least 48 hrs a week and had food and lodging deducted. Maid in the cabins behind the hotel. We usually had at least 15 rooms each. I was 14 years old and my mom worked with me. We were a family of 9, 7 kids aged 5 to 17, and my parents. We were housed at the Cliff House, which was a nice home where they eventually put the stables, but I believe may be completely gone at this point. It was brutal working there. I could tell you many more stories but thought you would enjoy just a snippet. Have fun, good luck with your writing! PatD.

What phone service providers work in Yellowstone National Park? I have T-Mobile, wondering if I should switch providers before. I come. I’ve heard Verizon is the best in that area. Any info would def help, thanks!
@laurenericks0n
@laurenericks0n 8 ай бұрын
I had Verizon and I also heard that was the best in the area! You could also pull up the T-mobile coverage map too and see if the plan you have stretches that far or call them up to ask. If you go to some of the more populated areas, like Canyon or Old Faithful, they may have better service!

@@laurenericks0n thanks for the reply. I did look at the map, looks like there’s coverage, but you never now until your actually there. How did Verizon work for you? And about how long ago if you don’t mind me asking
@laurenericks0n
@laurenericks0n 8 ай бұрын
@@ChubbsterOfficial Verizon worked well for phone calls for me, personally. Some texts worked, but anything that required loading (like a social media feed or Netflix) was pretty much a lost cause. That was probably 5 or 6 years ago when I was there the last time!

How much did you have to pay for housing? Did you have to put a deposit down?
@laurenericks0n
@laurenericks0n Ай бұрын
@@Frank-or2ns Nope, no deposit! I don’t remember exactly how much housing was but it was automatically taken out of my paycheck. I wanna say it was maybe a third or so? I stayed in what was the equivalent of a dorm, there are no apartments or houses within the park from what I can tell (apart from RVs).

It just sounds like you are never off. It sounds horrific, like they will FIND work for you to do! OMG and the stretching! Seriously? I’m not young either, guess I can’t work there which is a real letdown because I can never afford the high prices to be a tourist…very sad.😢
