whenever I watch these videos they give me a strange connection to something greater. They certainly have a unique feel and I like it.

I also love the use if the Jake the dog quote. That is my favourite saying and you have used it. ☺

Thanks! That means a lot! I'm glad you're enjoying them. And yes that Jake the dog quote is great inspiration when I start getting impostor syndrome or feel like I'm terrible at something.

Oh man, I love these videos! They’re catch the eye visually and you give some seriously solid advice. Also the knife throwing at the tree had me cracking up!

I do 1st and 3rd person for npc's, sometimes I just do the details but there's something about speaking for the npc that's just fun.

Same, I do a bit of both. Sometimes it's out of necessity so I can keep the characters straight in my head. Other times I just don't want to make up a voice for Joe schmo on the spot. It goes both ways! Thanks for the comment.

Prep! I think a lot of beginning DMs, especially when they get into the story writing, tend to over prep because they believe that there's so much they have to be prepared for in advance in the truth is you don't have to. You know what I mean.
@ElderGoblinGames

That's very true! I could probably do an entire video on over prepping haha. I might just.

Perfectionism combined with Distraction are the main reasons I still haven’t dmed yet. Like as soon as I hit a little snag I end up allowing myself to get distracted and eventually it’s 6months later and I’ve lost all gumption for the one shot idea that I have a good bit planned for. I’m in the middle of this cycle now and I need to force myself to find an artist on fiverr to make an isometric animated gif or 2 for me. Wish me luck breaking the cycle.

"Know the rules of the game you play!" Yeah, I think that is why I prefer "rules lite" systems or "homebrew" games. Making things up using creativity and imagination is why I play/run TTRPGs. Looking to the published "experts" for answers is way too much like my real life. BTW- you have an awesome channel. Cheers!

Yes. Though I try to find less traveled trails. I think I spooked someone this last time, because they saw me as they rounded a bend then quickly headed back the way they just came. 😅

There are better systems to run. I do running D&D because it is the most known in the US. But it is the baseline.
