Was 8 years old on family vacay in Orlando in June 1990. Went through a time share pitch and received free tickets to the brand new, one week old Universal Studios. NOTHING worked. We did the pre show of Earthquake but the ride itself was down. No Kongfrontation. Back to the Future was still being built. E.T. was a 5 hour wait. The one ride we got on was Jaws and it was AWESOME! The park was such a disaster we were given never expiring tickets to return as a “we’re sorry nothing worked today”🤣

Alfred Hitchcock attraction was always my favorite as a kid. That and twister. I forgot about king Kong, that was as solid as a ride you could ask for. Earthquake was excellent as well. Back to the future is the first and only rime I ever heard my sweet granny cuss. And it was a f bomb about 6 times in a row. Then laughed so hard she farted, excellent memories awaken watching this video.

Molly! So we went to Universal in the mid to late 90s for the first time … Twister was being advertised but wasn’t opened yet as a timeline. My dad and I went to the Alfred Hitchcock show while my mom and sister went to the ride across from it. While we were in line for the show … staff came over to my dad and asked if we would like front row seats and to come inside prior to the show… we’ll sure!!! Come to find out they wanted my dad in the show for the one of the scenes because he was wearing white tennis shoes…. So I’m the scene my dad is in a white sheet and all you can see are his shoes… well they switched him out half way through when the character goes “psycho” lol … so it looked like my dad bc of his shoes but was actually an actor :) They took great care of me in the front row … was only about 14 at the time :) I remembered my mom being so bummed she missed out on this special experience and we don’t have any pictures of it:( Also, side note I have a picture of me with a sign hanging that says “Mindy’s” and I can not find any history of it all … also asked our VIP guide a few years ago and knew nothing about it either. Anywho thought you would enjoy that info :) PS - my dad and I met you at MK back in 2021 in the corridor by the sunglass shop near jungle cruise. We were exiting out the rain and still in masks. We just adore you 🤷‍♀️

Omg thank you for this video! I grew up there (4-5 trips a week as a kid) and twister, murder she wrote, Hitchcock, jaws, waterworld, ghostbusters show, earthquake, and the backlot experiences were some of my favorites. My sister got slimed at Nickelodeon. I loved the Jurassic Park bone yard. I was so happy when we were there last week that ET, blues brothers, and the horror makeup show was still there so my husband could finally experience them.

I lived in Jacksonville, Fl in the late 80's/early 90's and remember going to Universal Studios for field trip at the end of my 7th grade year. We went on a weekday and literally had the whole park to ourselves - I distinctly remember getting off of re-riding (back-to-back) Back to the Future and Kong multiple times. ET has and always will be a favorite but other faves were Hanna Barbara, Earthquake and Jaws (of course). I'm a big HP fan so there's nothing like the Wizarding World but I have to admit, I do miss a lot of the old attractions. It just had a different feel back then. Love ya, Molly!

I went in 1996. The Alfred Hitchcock experience was so cool, the way the birds pecked their way through the screen and "invaded" the theater: the 3D was incredible! The Jaws and Earthquake rides were fun. The Terminator experience (part stage show, part 4D) was jaw-dropping! When they blew up the Liquid Metal terminator at the end, the audience got sprayed with a mist. Such fun special effects! I also remember getting the worst motion sickness on Back to the Future ride.

90s Universal is core memories for me. I treasure getting to see some of the OG attractions like Back to the Future and Jaws (even if I forced my dad to sit on the side Bruce pops up at because I was scared lol). I still have photos of my parents and I outside Nickelodeon Studios too. The parks are evolving with the times, but classic Universal is always in our hearts and I’m so glad the parks honor that nostalgia.

This was great. My first visit to Universal was in 1998 - I had my son 11 years and Daughter 4 years. I don't remember riding many rides (other than Jaws, that totally terrified me). I do remember Hannah Barbera stuff with Flintstones being there, which I loved. Honey I shrunk the Kids playground, my children loved. My son was so into Ninja Turtles at the time and they were there. We got our picture made in the hand of Kong and I have a picture of me in front of the Bates House. We also went to Disney that year which was it's 25th anniversary. My Husband said then, He would never go back. And so he has kept with that. I finally made it back 20 years later in 2018 with a visit with my Sister and Mom. Needless to say I'm now a Pass Holder and it takes 9 hours to get there and I go every opportunity I can get. I LOVE IT!!!! My dad is a pass holder and my sister's family.

I have great memories of old Universal when I was a kid. Some kinda fuzzy. I believe it was the art of making movies or screen test. My dad was picked to film the falling scene where they act like they are falling while the camera quickly moves away. Also, in Nickelodeon area, we played an Angry Beavers game, where my parents were picked to be the beavers, and would build a dam out of wood the audience had to pass down.

Alfred Hitchcock was an amazing experience. They had the miniature props from some of Hitchcock's movies, you showed the one from The Rear Window. They had a view finder (I don't know if that's what they're called, they have them in some cities to look at some sights...like binoculars) and you could look through them and see little scenes from the movie. That was one of my favorite attractions. It ended with a live show of how they did the shower scene in Psycho. They need to bring back Ghostbusters and make a new Jaws. They closed Back to the Future??? 😭 They also used to have a show called Beetlejuice's Graveyard Review which was super cute. It was all the original Universal Monsters singing.

Love this and all the history! I remember Twister, since I’m from the Midwest, it hit a little too close to home because we get tornadoes.

Kongfrontation smelled like propane! The whole ride all I could smell was the gas and I was so terrified I cried. 🤣

I loved the Alfred Hitchcock experience! I remember there was a 3D portion where the birds were flying right at you and I smacked some poor lady because it looked like a bird had landed on her head 😂. Kong was great, I wish we had a picture of the photo op at the end where it looked like you were in Kong's fist. Earthquake was fun I'm sure my mom had a video of it somewhere. One of my friends got picked to be in the Disaster show and it was so funny! Just like you Molly Jaws though was my absolute favorite!!! we always rode it as many times as we could and I was so heartbroken when it got torn down 😢😢
