I agree with everything you say here and what you say in this video has been key for me! Getting out of resistance/fear of the physical sensations and emotions and learning to be in the body has taken time and practice but is a game changer. However, another thing for me that has been key for me is letting go of the symptom thoughts and out of the nueral pathways that have stuck around for me even in the last stages of recovery (when I have so many days feeling almost fully recovered). Something in me is finding safety in being in "recovery" from these conditions and I have to let that go also.

Yes! Well said. The final steps are really about letting go of everything and seeing where identity is still hanging on, which is usually the recovering one and then the recovered one. Keep letting go and just let natural spontaneous action lead the way. Nice!

Could you explain more about how you ‘close the gap’? I’m understanding that the gap is between mental thoughts / worries / beleiefs(rational) and the actual physical sensations. I’d love to understand more on how to close that gap. Thanks Kyle 😊

Good question. For me, when my fatigue is severe I get frustrated and go into the rabbit hole of fear about future etc. Kyle says we have to learn to accept that intense sensation of symptoms. Trying my best on that.

There's a lot of momentum and habit force to being on the mental end of the gap so we have to realise that it takes practice and a commitment to exploring our direct experience beneath the mental interpretations and thought layers. There's lots of different approaches but I think what's ultimately important is giving yourself time to sit in silence, notice our current experience, become aware of the mental narratives, acknowledge them but realise it's all just on overlay/reaction to sensation and then gently explore what its about, can I notice the raw sensations just for a bit and see if I can stay with it. Being patient and realising that we will get tangled in thought and reactions again but the more we practice this the more this can deepen and we can disidentify from the mental narratives. The exact specifics of practice aren't as important as the intention to explore direct experience and comitting time and space to doing so. There's a lot I could say here but hope that's helpful :)

@@life.withkyle extremely helpful and clear. Acknowledge the mind and all the thoughts and narratives going on that are related to the symptoms - but go further and actually be with the physical sensations that we have associated to those narratives this recreating a new association (a neutral, loving compassionate one) by doing so with these sensations. Essentially Rewiring your connection with those symptoms and realizing that all the narratives and thoughts can be unlearned ? That’s what I understood..

@@svevitta Yes exactly. But I would take it a step further and say that it's not only about seeing that we can unlearn behaviours and thoughts but much more powerful and relieving to see that the more we see a thought as a thought, just an object of experience we don't even need to get rid of it, make it go away, fix it etc. It's innocent, the problem was we were identifying and seeing the world from the perspective of every thought the mind produces and that is uncomfortable. So with this practice of seeing thoughts and then exploring directly what it's referencing and trying to distance from, we can start to see more that thoughts aren't a problem if we don't believe and identify as them. A massive relief to just let the mind produce thoughts but not be triggered by them. Again this takes practice and a willingness to feel and let go

Would you say this applies to the mental too connected to the thoughts beliefs etc etc as well as the physical hurricane going on? Forgive me if I’m not understanding, I’m trying to learn from you to help myself.

Yes definitely, the way this plays out in the body is different from person to person. For some it's pain and others it fatigue others it's digestion issues etc. The root is the same and this where I try point to, get to the root and things will resolve

Do you have any advice with how to deal with getting extremely dizzy/lightheaded when exerting myself physically? Even small exertions can trigger it, for example earlier today i split two logs with an axe very gently, but it was enough to trigger feeling lightheaded and dizzy which earlier in my long covid has only gotten worse if i try to push through it, this usually leads to exhaustion in the days following as well, any advice? For reference I am 30 year old male, have had long covid for 1 year and 8 months now, have been out of work for 1 year and two months, before i got covid i was very healthy and was working full time

Yeah I can relate I would get that from exertion as well. Practicing daily meditation and taking time to sit and sooth my nervous system and feel into my body more really helped to regulate my nervous system over time so those things went away. Also grounding techniques can be good, focusing on getting out of the head and more into the body + present moment helped me a lot with those kinds of symptoms
