Personally, I think Lamar could have been even more successful on the current Jets team than he has with the Ravens this year. Jets defense has been more consistent, at least. I'm guessing Rich may have preferred Aaron over Lamar, due to his track record, not his future performance potential. Granted, it's been a long time now, but he has a ring and multiple MVPs. Plus Aaron was more affordable from a trade capital point of view. While Lamar has mostly been impressive and also has 2 MVPs, it's been nearly all regular season success and stats. Not so much in the playoffs. Lamar still has time to turn it around, but he's beginning to look a little like this generation's Dan Marino, only, without a Super Bowl appearance: crazy, almost video game level of regular season stats, but mostly wilts in the post-season, and/or is often injured by that time.
