No one seems to have noticed that Chicago in the last month of the season scored the MOST POINTS. Things started to come together for Fields and then he's traded. He has shown that with some stable pass protection, and time to click with his best receiver. Fields will rise to being a top 5 QB. The notion that he can't read defenses or even learn that with good coaching, that he never passes from the pocket, is not true. He showed that in Chicago in the last part of the season, and the players and even the GM all loved Fields and stood by his talent and ability to improve and learn. It's just that they had the number one pick. If they had the number 5 pick, say, they'd stick with Field go from there loading up on weapons and improving the o-line. you were wrong about Russ. before he got hurt in 2021 he was a top 3 QB, not 2020. and even last year in Denver he had 29 total TDs and 8 INTs in only 15 starts. Had 8 wins and 5 game winning drives for a team with the 30th ranked defense and a head coach that hated him. People are still letting 2022 with nathaniel hackett (worst coach in nfl history) and russ playing with a torn lat as a reason to hate on him.

Absolutely! He was leading the league in passing in 2021 before he was INJURED! They shouldn’t say “hurt.” He suffered a career-threatening injury, and he was injured in 2022 as well.

Russ was #1 in 2020 (breaking records left and right) before Pete Carroll tinkered with the offense in about week 9, and he did it because his defense was statistically and literally the worst in NFL history to that point. You can look that up if you want to. Russ was breaking records and had that team winning. They were 6-2 when Pete pulled the rug out from under Brian Schottenheimer and Russ. They still finished with a 12-4 record and an NFCw title, but they lost in the playoffs because of Pete’s same old tired offense and inability to manage the 4th quarters of games. He was a very overrated coach. Russ was the presumptive MVP in 2020 until about week 10, just as he had been in 2019. The difference in 2030 was that Pete all but snatched it away from Russ, which is one reason Russ was sick of Pete and wanted to leave. Pete should’ve let his defense suck and allowed Russ to keep winning games. Those interceptions would’ve stopped. Two of the 5 INTs over that midseason stretch were receiver influenced, including one by Greg Olson, who always been a Russ advocate and continues to be.

It wasn’t a broken finger. It was much more serious than that…so serious he had to undergo immediate surgery. He went straight to the airport after the game and flew to L.A. for surgery. He tore ligaments and did muscle damage. It threatened his career. But I do agree either way you on Sean Payton, and I think Russ is going to light his defense up in week 2.

Russ can still run! He rushed for 341 yards in 15 games, the equivalent of 386 yards over 17 games. The league average for QBs is about 180, and that’s skewed upward by guys like LJ, Allen, and even Russ. Russ is still a top-15% QB when it comes to running, which means there are only about 7 QBs who are as mobile. LJ Fields DWat Allen Murray Hurts Stroud Young C. Williams Jones Lawrence They can scoot too, but I believe Russ moves better.

Russ does everything or can do everything. He often hasn’t had the personnel to do what he wants, but there isn’t a throw he cannot make. For example, this bs about Russ being unable to throw over the middle…I’ve personally seen it disproven several times in whole games in which he has completely torched great defenses. Russ is an undersized version of Mahomes, with a little less arm strength but more clutch ability.

Making it to the playoffs would likely mean they are good this year. And that's the standard with the current Dallas organization since their last championship appearance. They are okay with getting to the playoffs because as long as they are at that level, they will keep being in the spotlight and making the league and themselves money. The question in Denver was if Sean Payton was trying to force Wilson into a system rather than come up with a system that worked for Wilson. Payton's ego may be the real problem.
