After having watched a number of "What's My Line" episodes over an extended period of time, I have come to deeply appreciate how incredibly funny and charming Arlene Francis was. Having been born in 1948, I was fortunate to be able to see a number of America's greatest comedians, primarily on television, and I used to often chuckle at their various and mishaps and comments, and their "body language," which included their animated facial expressions. But with Ms. Francis, I am always laughing out loud because of her quick wit and because behind her humor was brilliance! Her timing was impeccable. She knew just when to zap the audience with her always appropriate silly, funny comments. I consider her to have been one of America's greatest comedians. (07/15/24)

It was nice to see one panelist being able to sit and witness what it was like as the others were groping in the dark

I didn't get to see this episode. We were living in Guantanamo Bay Naval Station and had no television. We did have radio programing and this program just wasn't done. Pity. But once we moved to California we watched!!!

Fred Allens comment about Argentina was because of a coup that heppened a few days before "Revolución Libertadora was the coup d'état that ended the second presidential term of Juan Perón in Argentina, on 16 September 1955."

This episode aired 3 days before I was born. Not relevant, but interesting to me, anyway.

Surprise. The biographies say that from 1952 to the seventies Joe rarely appeared in NY.

Joe reluctantly enlisted in the army in WWII, but only at the urging of his wife. He had a real cushy stint playing exhibition games in Hawaii during the war but resented playing and not getting paid.

This 1955 episode has written on it “Match Game Production 2012” Why? Is that the company and date of acquisition of the copyright? Or is it advertising, a commercial expression of free speech? Does it answer the rhetoric question “where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?”

Wow Jon really pushed that Dog Candy Guy off quickly and abruptly. Ever notice how Jon Daley has a habbit of not pronouncing the "R" in certain names? Like he said "Robet" or "Albet" instead of RobeRt or AlbeRt.
