Remember Where You Are is one of my favorite songs ever. I have never heard a song more beautiful. Everything about it, the lyrics, the vocals, the instrumentation just resonates with me in a way I never thought possible. I want it played at my funeral, that’s how much I like it.

Same here. The single came out during the pandemic. They were allowed to shoot the music video during one of the lockdowns and the song goes along so well with this surreal situation. It's my go-to song of the album, for sure.

This album really scratched the itch future nostalgia failed to do for me. I wanted a proper disco done in a mature way, and this album gave me exactly that. It’s so sensual too. So good that it became my #1 aoty for 2020, and then she released the deluxe version the next year which are just as amazing

I first heard Jessie on Nicki Minaj’s “The Crying Game” back in 2014, and I have been ADDICTED ever since!! I streamed this album (and every other) to the GRAVE and still do!! This album definitely crowns her the Mother of Modern Disco/Funk! 🪩🕺🏾🎙️

What's Your Pleasure was nominated for Best Album in the Brit Award (equivalent to Grammy but British) but was ultimately lost to Dua's Future Nostalgia. I believe That! Feels Good! will be nominated again in 2024.

Thank you, Beth! THANK YOU for reacting to this album. Jessie Ware has been around since 2012. ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ was made out of a need for escapism funnily enough. Jessie said she felt very disillusioned by the industry when it came to making music. She wanted to bring more energy to her live shows. Her earlier work consists of lots of midtempo sophisti-pop, soul and R&B that feature deeper lyrics and really shows off her vocals. Her debut album, ‘Devotion’ is stunning and worth checking out purely for the juxtaposition. There’s even a deluxe edition of WYP? known as ‘The Platinum Pleasure Edition’ 🪩

I feel like Spotlight is a bit of an ode to the disco songs of the 70s/early 80s, ones that started like a balled and then segued into a disco song, like a lot of Donna Summer's songs (Last Dance, On the Radio, Dim All the Lights, etc.).

To use an excessively Bri'ish reference: Jessie's vocals are like butter and the production is like a hot, freshly toasted crumpet. Her latest album kind of sucked unfortunately... but if you haven't already, you should check out the song Begin Again, which would be deserving of a place on the masterpiece that is "What's Your Pleasure?"
