The first release candidate for Asterisk 20 was recently released. Asterisk 20 is a long term supported release, which means that it will be around for 4 years followed by a final year of security fixes.

Thank you Joshua ! I’m a bit shocked and disappointed to hear that FreePBX is moving to Rocky Linux 8, which is basically CENTOS 8. That is a 3 year old distribution that’ll be 3 1/2 years old by the time a RL8 based FreePBX Distro 8 ships. That is incredibly sad and just a waste of time, since 9 is already out this version could just have been skipped and a lot of work saved. With the FreePBX team being as understaffed as it is, any duplication of work is just so sad to watch.
